JDS was on crutches a week before he fought Cain. Had he lost people would have been calling him a wuss and a whiner, but he won, so he's a god and a worldbeater. Funny how people over react and love to kick people when they are down, was Lombard hurt? maybe? how about you all calm down. Big nog had staph and lost, people didn't jump all over him for that. Faber broke his hand and lost to Brown, nobody cared, for some reason Lombard has brought out the worst in everyone because he fought so badly. When Anderson Silva's ribs were cracked and he beat Sonnen in a terrible performance he became a legend, funny how people's perspectives are so ridiculous.
People actually did jump on Nog for saying Frank won cause he had Staph. And Nog is one of the most liked fighters. Faber as far as i know broke his hand in the Brown fight.
And what about Anderson??? How does that compare? Anderson won his fight AND Chael got busted for high Testosterone. So it pretty much just evened itself out. PLUS people did give Anderson sht and there are articles out there that state Anderson went in with bruised ribs and came out with cracked ribs.
So basically your arguments have no truth to them. Whenever people make excuses they get ragged on. And rightly so. These guys arnt doing ANYONE a favor by taking these fights. They have boring fights and lose and then come out with excuses about why they lost and blame the fans for them accepting the fight anyway. This is pretty much becoming the norm whenever a person who is the favorite or has tons of hype loses their fight. They all have some kind of excuse as to why they lost.
If you cant see why throwing out excuses after a loss is bad sportsmanship, rude to your opponent and pretty much a cop-out then i dont know what to tell you. Every fighter should just throw out excuses after a fight because then they never have to admit they were beaten fair and square. Who cares about what it does to the sport when people who have no business fighting go in and fight and take the place of a potentially exciting fight that wont leave us wondering what would have happened if the guy was actually fit to fight.
Between all the injury cancelled fights and all the post injury excuse fights im starting to wonder if there is anyone in MMA who isnt walking around with an injury that would cripple a normal man. -_-
And who would have thought when people were calling this sport barbaric and using injury inside fights as a sticking point that the actual danger lied in the gym.
