Give it up, Silva aint making WW, he is a huge MW, catchweight would leave Silva a little drained and might even things up a bit considering the rather large size discrepancy. I often think people don't realize just how much bigger Anderson Silva is than GSP.

This would be a great fight. GSP has been out of action for a while, and should probably take 2 fights to tune up to Silva, but if he wants to get a shot at Silva before he retires, then more power to him.

sadly neither fighter fight often enough,

This fight at a catchweight can't happen until March at the earliest, ruling out the Superbowl Card (Feb 3).

Dana has often stated that a super-fight would take place in a stadium like cowboy stadium or the Rogers Center, which also pushes it back past Feb 3 (not that the Cowboy's are gonna make a superbowl run).

Ufc Events Attended:

Id like to see a 178 catch weight, let GSP beat Condit and sign the contract!

Give what up?! I'd rather see the fight at a catch weight. I just think GSP definitely favors this because then Anderson won't be invading on his space.

Anyway, they're both talking about fighting each other so all that's left is signing the contract, isn't it?

On the 20 pounds heavier remark thats not true. When cutting a significant amount of weight your body can't put it all back on right away it takes a couple of days. If Anderson gets down to 177 there is no way he weighs his normal 215 the next night.. he would probably only get back up to about 200 and GSP would be his normal 190..

As for the GSP being worried about putting his title up for grabs I don't think thats what Firas meant. I think Tristar is assuming the fight will either be at MW or catchweight and they prefer making Anderson cut the extra weight to negate a bit of the size difference. Anderson has said he could drop to WW several times but I think he is just talking to get the media going. I really don't think he could make 170 he hasn't done it since he was very young and he has filled out a bit since then. He looked pretty drawn out in the 175 blb tournament he was in back in 2005 and that last 5 pounds of a weight cut makes a huge difference

Favs
HW-Brock Lesnar
LHW-Forrest Griffin, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans & Gegard Mousasi
MW-Chael Sonnen
WW-All hail GSP
LW-Frankie Edgar
FW-Kenny Florian & Mark Hominick
BW-Don't really have one but I love their fights

He shouldn't be looking past Condit. I still have my money riding on the fact that GSP will be able to move to 185 because he is no longer the champion.

I'm so over any Silva/GSP talks. It's like rumors of Fedor coming to the UFC. Or like the Dwight Howard rumors for those who follow the NBA.

All talk, nothing happening.
