Aug 10, 2012 - If UFC lightweight champion Ben Henderson and Frankie Edgar have any deserved reputation in mixed martial arts, it's one for skill and high offensive output. Another should be meeting the rest of the professional trimmings that come with fight sport as both easily made the precise lightweight limit of 155 pounds in Denver, Colorado today for the UFC 150 weigh-ins.
Henderson checked in at 154.6 pounds, slightly heavier than Edgar's 154.4 pounds.
"I feel great," Edgar told UFC commentator Joe Rogan after making things official on the scale. "Denver, I'm ready to fight my balls off for you. I did everything I could to make sure I go home with the belt tomorrow."
For his part, the champion was less descriptive but in equally good spirits and with focused intensity. "Denver's awesome," Henderson said. "Edgar's awesome. We all know he's awesome in rematches."
Edgar enters this rematch as an underdog after having lost his title to Henderson at UFC 144 in February. Both fighters appeared to be crowd favorites despite neither being a Colorado native.
There was a hiccup at the weigh-ins as co-main event lightweight Melvin Guillard missed weight, tipping the scales at 157.5 pounds. He did not take off any additional clothing on the scales. According to UFC President Dana White on the FUEL weigh-in show, Guillard will not attempt to lose the additional weight and will surrender 10% of his purse. Half of that fine will go to Cerrone while the commission will take the other half.

Screw Melvin... He didn't looked drawn out. Plus he still had his Shorts on, his earings in (both ears), could of shaved his head. I'm sure He could dropped 1pound right thier....( I think he's scared and didn't want to cut all the way down....JMO)
I like 20% penalty better than 10%, and I would not have a problem with 30%.
Im starting to think I may have a problem with the extreme weight cutting, I have always considered it all part of the fight game but I think it will become a bigger issue in the future. I will have to think on this some more.
