Well they could fight, since they'd both be in the UFC.
But perhaps the two champs would only fight each other once every few years.
This would shake everything up and make the divisions a lot more exciting imo. No more champs resting on their laurels.
The fact this is making some people so livid, to me, just shows how much more exciting this would be. Just the concept of it has some of you foaming at the mouth.

Everyone would just want the two champs to fight each other to decide who the real champ is. Then what do you do? Give one guy two belts?

Yeah because when interm title holders don't fight the champ as quickly as possible people are really into that. They don't complain that there isn't a real champ.
Also so if they fight every couple years what do you do after? Just make another belt? So would Anderson need to hire a bunch of mexicans to carry all his belts to the cage? I mean jesus...

Good point.
I think they would have to fight each other once in a while, but I don't think unification would work, as that would counteract the whole point in the first place. Just have them fight, and that's it.

People complaining on internet forums isn't something people running multimillion dollar organizations actually care about, believe it or not.
Two champs would bring a lot of excitment to the WW, MW, and LHW divisions especially.
More meaningful fights at each weight class would be fine by me.

Didn't you just say it would stir up more talk if there were two belts? You need to make up your mind, it would just be confusing for casual fans too.
Also my other point you didn't address. What do you do when the champs fight every couple of years? Just make another belt, Anderson would have like 8 at this point.

How have I not made up my mind. I think this would work. I'm yet to see a compelling argument for why it wouldn't other than the fact that it's new, and people don't like change.
Who are these casual fans? and if they're so casual, who cares if they're confused?
I've never met a casual fan. There's mma fans, who are rabid, and people who don't give a shit, but will watch it if it's on tv. I'll watch Pawn Stars if it's on and I don't have anything else to do, doesn't make me a fan, casual or not.

But then everyone would look at the winner as being the real champion and the second guys belt would become meaningless.
You wouldn't be able to have them fight without ruining your idea and everyone would want them to fight.

Until he strung a few wins together. Especially if he beat a guy (or two) who've beaten the other champ in the past.
I'm not suggesting this as a solution to the question, 'who is the best fighter ever' I'm suggesting this as a solution to champs fighting twice a year and avoiding the guys who might actually beat them.
It would be harder to duck, because people would just start considering the other guy the 'real champ' if you started avoiding tough fights.
I'm not suggesting this because I think the current champs, or fans with aspergers would like it, I'm suggesting it because, to me, the golden age was when there was PRIDE and the UFC and each division, had, not one supreme champion, but two (three if you count the GP champ).
It made everything more exciting and with both champs being under one organization, it would mean the fights could actually happen.
I'm not saying 8 belts per division, like boxing, just two.

I don't think you know what the word means.
Ignorant doesn't just mean 'anyone who disagrees with you'
Although that would be fun, I guess. Is it fun?

SO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE CHAMPS FIGHT?!? Do you just make another belt? Then there are eight per division or does a belt go away when it is unified, which than makes the point of two belts useless.
Also you didn't disagree with me, you told me you there are no casual fans and if there are **** them who cares if they are confused and don't watch ir order PPV or put money in the ufcs pocket.
