For all the people mentioning a possible fight with Cain you have to remember Cain and DC train together at AKA and just like Koscheck and Fitch refuse to fight each other. If Cain wins the belt expect to see DC dropping to LHW.

this cormier fellow is mighty presumptuous in that he talks about having the title and fighting in a super fight at another divison. I like it lol. Presumptuous means he expects to win. What I dont like is that hes fighting Mir in SF. If this happened in the UFC, itd be way bigger. But say Cormier beats Mir in SF, hes still UNKNOWN by most casuals. Mir vs Cormier should be the main event of a UFC on Fox. Thats my opinion and im sticking to it.

Sure, your opinion would come true if we lived in a fantasy world. But the fact of the matter is Cormier has 1 fight left on his Showtime contract and needs to fight 1 last time in SF. So what are they supposed to do?

Also, he never said he was going to win a HW title and then drop for a super fight. He said he wants to fight for the title in one of those divisions....that isn't the same thing..

One time deal only. Cormier had 1 fight left with Showtime and Mir was willing to step up. He'll be back in the UFC after the fights over.
Right on! Thanks! Once again, still can't rep you... time to spread..

I'm pretty sure that's why DC is asking for JDS or JBJ. If Cain gets the belt back, his not staying in the weight class.

Actually, Diaz got popped for weed, which I wouldn't consider a PED - so in his case, it's not like taking a sip from the Dead Sea

did you read the opening post?

“Standing across the cage from that guy would be great for me. I’d love to do at some point in my career,” admitted Cormier. “Even if I am maybe the heavyweight champion and there’s a chance to make a super-fight, we could figure something out him and I, because I would not back down from that opportunity.”

I stand corrected.

I figured the whole 205 talk was purely based on Cain being an elite HW as well.

I'd love to see him vs. Bones. I just hope he gets a fight in the UFC soon after he detroys Mir. He should get a HW title shot right away. But we have the whole Overeem thing. Personally I think Overeem should have to step aside for putting the JDS fight on hold. He is at fault so he loses his shot. HW isn't the deepest division so I think it would be dumb to set up Cormier/Overeem.

If JDS wins give Cormier the shot.

If Cain wins give Overeem the shot.
