Agreed. I want Hendo to win but I see this going horribly for him. He will get beat worse then Shogun to me. He will walk into diverse elbows and straight punches from Jones all night. His only hope is that in his confidence, Jones starts throwing straights to the body to try and tire out Hendo and set up a late finish. That will draw Jones in and open him up to the H-Bomb, but I'm sure Jones has it covered with ease. Had Machida not been on a one fight winning streak (against someone who has formally retired), it would be bigger than this, but since he wasn't then this is the biggest fight of Jones career by far.

I dunno man...Hendo has been on an incredible run. I mean look at that behind the back uppercut against Fedor. That was a sneaky attack and knocked him cold.

I know one thing is for sure. The boards are buzzing about the H-bomb. Thing is Dan does have a wrestling background so it's not like he doesn't know what he's doing out there. It's his conditioning due to old age that's really stopping him from making it an even more competitive match up.

As JBJ fights more and more. Everyone will be able to spot out some weaknesses. Question is whether they can exploit it. GSP is durable, but certainly does not have the strongest chin so he adapted. Anderson doesn't have the strongest TDD, so he pulls guard or maneuvers out of the way and usually makes you PAY FOR IT. Lyoto was a puzzle till Shogun figured you just gotta counter a right overhand vs his left counter and push the pace. So on and so forth...

I'm pretty damn excited!

Henderson is on a great run but I think this will be another Prado/Davis fight where Henderson gets a bad eye poke from Jones. Jones keeps him fingers open and Henderson moves in for strikes, I see this being a deadly combination.

What? Can you explain what you mean? Cause im thoroughly confused with that sentence. Why would Hendo getting tired help him own on the ground??

That said i agree that it wouldnt be surprising to see Jones strike for a while. He has a tendency to not get intimidated and do the whole "constant shooting" thing. We all thought he wasnt going to be flashy against Shogun and focus on the takedown but he did the opposite. He was flashier then ever and only went for the takedown when it made sense. He also stood with Rashad and was able to use those sneaky elbows while holding hands with Rashad. Against Rampage he used his knee kick to keep Rampage out of pocket distance and then used his reach to pepper him. He stood with Lyoto until it got dangerous and then when he realized Machidas take-down defense isnt anything special and he can take him down whenever he wants he then felt comfortable to stand again.

I do see him standing with Hendo unless he gets a great chance to take Hendo down OR Hendo gets the best of the exchanges. Jones is going to use his reach advantage and pepper Henderson. If Henderson finds a way to counter that THEN Jones will start forcing the takedowns.

I would not be surprised AT ALL if we see Jones slip up and take a H-Bomb to the jaw and see we his tall ass hit the floor face first. It would be a sight that rivals that of Bisping getting knocked out. And that moment made me <-------------- tears of joy.

Honestly he didnt let me down in that fight. Henderson looked like he had no business being out of bed much less fighting. The guy couldn't stand straight and nearly looked like he had a dinosaur spine. AND even though it was incredibly obvious that he had a serious Back injury the guy didnt come out later with "Not to take anything away from Jake Shields but i had a broken neck and back and ass going in to the fight. My doctor warned my not to fight but i didnt want to let my fans down, so i took the fight anyway."

And he managed to put it on Jake Shields in the first round and came an inch away from victory anyway.
There is no doubt in my mind as to what would happen if them 2 fight again. Hendo would finish what he started in the first time he hit him with the H-Bomb. There wouldnt be need for a second...
I meant Jones may use a kicking strategy to wear Hendo down, then take him down and have his way.

Hendersons age is a big factor.Looked very tired and old against Shogun (as did Shogun lol) in later rounds.Lets face it he is old.
However as dominent as Jones has looked against his previous oppenents I really don't think he has been tested by someone who will come forward and hit him hard.A get in your face fighter.
Shogun was picked apart.Showed heart but looked small compared to Jones.
Evans well I dont rate him much so will not comment. He did nothing.
Machida did well but is not a get in your face fighter but fought well.
Rampage his day has gone.10 even 5 years ago I think he would have destroyed Jones.

Now Hendo seems to have got better with age. If he can get inside the pocket he will rock Jones. Maybe Jones will absorb this well. We do not know as he has never been tested that way.But the only chink I see in his LHW armour is he doesn't like to get hit.(who does)It might not be Hendo but eventually someone will negate his reach and he will get in a good old fashioned scrap.Only then will we see if he is a true great.
Hendo has done this countless times so hopefully we will get a great fight.
However Hendo must finish in first 2 or Jones will wear him down.

Either way a great fight to look forward to. Something I feel is missing a bit in the UFC these days.

Ps On another point if Jones goes to HW he will be defeated - regularly. His massive LHW frame is an obvious advantage although I do not mean that in a negative way. MAkes the weight means he is a true LHW.Respect

I don't think I've seen either one of these guys on their back,,,I can't picture what would happen if it went to the ground.

Didn't Shogun finish the 5th round of his fight with Hendo in full mount?

(memory is a little hazy but Dan definitely spent time on his back in the 5th)
