I just think that, right now, GSP is the P4P best fighter right now. I mean, sure, Fedor is the guy to beat, but right now, GSP has gained that number 1 spot. I love me some Fedor, and I don't blame him for beating the best(I do, however, blame Pride matchmaking for pitting him up against laughable talent like Zulu), but just beating Cro Cop doesn't compare to beating Sherk, Trigg, Penn, & Hughes in a 2 year span. He didn't just beat Sherk, Trigg, and Hughes, he demolished them.

He, like Fedor, is head and shoulders above everyone in his division.

As far as overall accomplishments, Fedor takes the title. But, right now, I think GSP is the number 1 P4P fighter.

Picture a heavyweight who has freakishly good striking, submissions, strength, reflexes, ect that are better than anyone elses in his weight class: you have fedor. There are welterweights who are better at some aspects of mma then GSP, and that is why he isnt as strong a fighter for his class as fedor is. When fighting crocop his striking was better, nogeira his submission defense the best out there, ect. When st.pierre fights matt hughes, i still beleive hughes is the stronger man, but when fedor fights anyone, hes got every advantage over his opponent.

I disagree with you about hughes being stronger. Yeah he is a freak when it comes to strength, but in 65 he really had nothing on GSP couldnt get any takedowns even though he only really attempted to tie him 3 or so times I dont think that his strength dominates over GSP. They would be pretty close

So are you saying that Fedor has to go through everyone that hes already beaten again to be considered the best? I mean what must he do?

GSP didnt dominate BJ BTW

Fedor, Shogun, Cro Cop, Chuck, and Hendo are all ahead of GSP p4p IMO

I agree. GSP has fought the best WW fighters in the UFC while Fedor has beaten EVERY SINGLE HW contender in Pride in a convincing manner. I'm pretty sure Fedor has never even lost a ROUND in Pride, I could be mistaken but every single one of his decision victories is a UD. GSP is the most well rounded fighter in my opinion but its absurd to compare his accomplishments with Fedors

What a stud

hughes' compact body type, musculature, and wrestling background convince me he is stronger then GSP. He is a lankier guy (5'10 when i think hughes is probably a bit shorter then 5'9, about 5'8 5'8 1/2) and in my opinion being built like that at the same weight as someone who is a bit shorter spreads out the strength more, such that the height accounts for more weight then the muscle. This is purely wrestling wise, mind you.

I'm not saying Fedor should re-beat everyone, but the HW division can be a tad shallow. Fedor goes from beating Cro Cop to beating Zulu, Mark Coleman, & Mark Hunt. I'll give you Mark Hunt, but Coleman & Zulu? This shows how bad a) Pride's matchmaking is and b) how shallow the HW division can be.

Hendo went from losing to Misaki & LiL Nog to beating Wandy. Beating Wandy is a nice accomplishment, but how can you honestly say he's better than GSP P4P right now.

Shogun's a good choice, but he needs to work on his standup(Punching wise). Still, I love me some Shogun.

I'm going for best all around right now. If I were to make a list of P4P of all time, then it'd include people like Bas Rutten and definitely Fedor. I'm doing this by 2005-right now, and GSP's list is the most impressive, and you could make a case for Shogun(Him winning the GP was pretty damn great).

Chuck's good, and is one step below Shogun on my list.

Meh, Cro Cop did beat Barnett & Silva in one night, but he also faced people like Minowa and Yoshida(Who Mirko matches up perfectly against).

I never said GSP dominated Penn.

In the UFC it's GSP without question. Anderson Silva coming in second, CC third.

If you look at it from a mathematical point of view (pulls out thick glasses) the most difficult division to dominate in is the division that would have the most competitors in the world.

If you take ALL the mma fighters and break them into weight categories I bet the Heavy weight division would be outnumbered significantly. So.. that would make dominating the WW class more significant.

Now, I personally don't think GSP has done enough to be compared to Fedor, no way. I think GSP still has much to prove, as far as accomplishments go.

But p4p, he has to be right up near the top. I just can't put him over Fedor due to Fedor's god like status

- Fedor
- GSP
- A.Silva (kinda lacks wrestling, but either way he can K you TFO or submit you)
- Diego Sanchez (a little better standup and he would be deadly)
- Matt Hughes & Karo Parisyan (Same as Diego, standup issue)

"I only want to be known as the best ever, is that too much to ask?" - BJ Penn
