Saying that BJ poked GSP in the eye intentionally is going a bit too far, but BJ is notorious for eye pokes.
I watched that shot over and over in slow motion and frame-by-frame. The punch in question was not really a punch. It was more of an extended, downward swat motion. BJís fingers were open and his thumb was extended. End result was a very nasty eye-poke.
Shortly after that BJ grazed the tip of GSPís nose with an upper-cut.
Only BJ knows for sure if the eye poke was truly intentional, although it was very reminiscent of the Hughes vs. Penn fight when Hughes also took a BJ thumb in the eye.
