It's amazing how much a win or a loss can be a momentum shifter. I bet if JLAU pulls this off he's "already in the mix."

This is the only division where the top five are all pretty interchangeable.

Maynard is from a wrestling background, and that's his big problem in this fight. If he ever thinks of using that against Lauzon? He 100% will get submitted.

I think this is an upset fight for Maynard, and another step forward for Lauzon.

Maynard will win a sloppy UD, by laying on Joe while Joe tries for Submissions. I just hope I'm wrong and Joe pulls one off!

The key for either guy is that they've trained together, so Joe know's Gray's wrestling technique and Gray know's Joe's subs.

I hope Joe wins I feel like he's the new Forrest Griffin, Mike Brown, Lyoto Machida or Matt Serra. I think he's good enough and unique enough that if he gets a title shot he could win the title. But he needs that huge win to put him in the automatic title mix.

Still trying to understand why Gray takes this to the ground when his stand up is better than Joe's? Joe will just get rocked jumped on and TKO'd. If anyone is overrated its him and I like the guy but how does he get this to the ground without Maynard's consent, he can't and sooner or later he'll eat a shot that ends the fight or lose by UD.

If Maynard's sub defense is up to scratch he takes this quite handily...

Experience shows that if anyone can catch unbelievable subs and break-neck speeds it's Lauzon. Interesting matchup, it favors Maynard though.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Lauzon pull off another beautiful submission from his back though

I'm excited for this - God the LW division is awesome!

I honestly don't see Joe Lau winning this fight.

Who exactly does Gray Maynard ever go out there and smash or KO?

The most likely scenario is Gray going out there and hugging Lauzon and controlling him for three rounds.

Maynard doesn't do too well against savvy submission players and I think his ground game is incredibly over rated, in fact, I think his entire game is over rated.

When it comes down to it, he's just another prototype wrestle-boxer with quite an underwhelming ground game.

I'm picking Lauzon to pull off the huge upset and rock and sub Maynard in this fight.
Agreed. Not sure what people are talking about. I think both fighters have a little power in their hands if they connect. Maynard is obviously stronger with better wrestling. While Joe has better fighter IQ and has better submission game.

Should be interesting wherever it goes.

Lauzon has KO'd/rocked/dropped far better strikers than Maynard.
