Ufc on Fx 6 in Vegas Dec 15, 3 events in Dec
This is a little off from the schedule released at the Expo, but maybe scheduling problems have changed it to a Saturday from Friday Dec 14.
This makes 3 events in Vegas for the Ufc in December.
Tuf 16 Finale - Friday Dec 1, Pearl at the Palms
Ufc on Fox 5 - T.B.D. (Please be Seattle)
Ufc on Fx 6 - Saturday Dec 15, The Joint at Hard Rock
Ufc 155 - Saturday Dec 29, MGM Grand
As for contestants, I would think Cerrone/Pettis or Carwing/Nelson will headline this Fx card.
As a fan from the Northwest, I was hoping the Fx card would be in Seattle as Mike Chiappetta shot down Seattle for Ufc on Fox 5.
"Sources close to the event today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that UFC on FX 6 is targeted for Dec. 15.
No fights have been confirmed for the event.
The last UFC event to be held at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was the Season 4 finale for "The Ultimate Fighter," which took place Nov. 11, 2006, with a main card that aired live on Spike TV.
Since then, The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort has hosted all the finale events for "The Ultimate Fighter." A venue has yet to be named for the reality show's latest installment, "The Ultimate Fighter 16," though Dec. 1 is the targeted date. The TUF 16 Finale also will have a main card that airs live on FX.
In addition to hosting four UFC events, The Joint has was the home of 11 WEC events, the last of which was WEC 42, which took place in August 2009 and featured Brian Bowles' knockout of Miguel Torres to win the bantamweight title.
The addition of a card in Las Vegas on Dec. 15 would make for a busy month for the UFC. The TUF 16 Finale is targeted for Dec. 1, UFC on FOX 5 takes place Dec. 8, UFC on FX 6 appears to be headed for Dec. 15 and the UFC's year-end pay-per-view show takes place Dec. 29, also in Las Vegas – giving the promotion four events in the calendar month, with three in Las Vegas.
The Joint underwent a renovation in 2009 that doubled its capacity from 2,000 to 4,000 seats. The venue, of course, is best known for playing host to live music acts including Aerosmith, Motley Crue and, this fall, Guns N' Roses for a nearly monthlong residency."
Are we talking about 2014?
If so, I'm not really concerned with anything that far off. The reason least of which is because the world is supposed to end in 12/21/2012
So 2014 seems a little far off to be thinking about. But that's probably just me.
Not too mention that the Mayan date for the end of the calendar occurred about 7 months ago. Seems the Mayans weren't in on the Roman's whole leap year thing.
