Even ring rust won't allow Condit to beat GSP.

Literally two different classes of fighter.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves.

People thought that Anderson was going to have problems with his year + layoff and you see how that worked out. And he, unlike GSP is at the age where fighters can grow old overnight.

GSP is still only 31 ears old.

I was thinking about this. I believe if this fight does happen and it appears that Condit is the only obstacle. The UFC will set this for a summer blockbuster in Brazil with a 60,000 stadium. This will give GSP a solid six to eight months of full training. All the while TV media rolling. "IF" GSP beats Condit which he should because of destiny. This fight should garner 1.5 - 2 million PPVs.

GSP will do well to get past Condit, as good as he is he's just recieved the snakebite that is major knee injury, we'll see how he is.

And No Mercy, are you practicing your MMA article skills on us with these threads?!
Although I've written a few articles, can't take credit for all of em. Some of the threads get a bit stale so it's nice to infuse something fresh that'll get everybody's attention.

I would much rather see Silva fight Jones, where he retires after the fight. Jones still has the option of moving up to heavyweight even if he loses. If he wins, UFC finally has a new superstar.

Of course, if Silva and GSP fights, I would still watch it.
I'm pretty sure GSP knows it too. He used RJJ as a reference for what happens when you bounce around in weight classes. But the MASSES want it and Dana has spoken. He's been called out by the greatest of all time in our generation. He can't refuse...

To me it doesn't matter if GSP loses. It's the fact that he accepts it. For Anderson to personally call him out is an honour itself.

It's a battle that will resonate for the ages...

I don't always agree with Roflcopter, but when I do, it's about this.

Well Dana wants it at a catchweight so win or lose GSP will probably go back to WW.

Although he's a big WW so he could move up easily.

although id watch it this fights doesnt make sense to me.
i would preffer anderson to go up and prove his GOAT tag then go down and beat a smaller person.

i also think gsp needs 2 fights to get him back in the swing before he takes this fight which rules this out for 18months given they both only fight twice a year even when fit.

No_Mercy,

A fight of the magnitude has to be in North America, and the UFC has been waiting for something to promote in Cowboy Stadium.

Put it in Canada or Brazil sure you will fill the stadium full of 70,000.

But it in Cowboy stadium and you will get 50,000-70,000 people paying Ufc 148 money..plus its easier to get to..and most of all NEUTRAL ground.

Dallas is easy for anyone in the world to fly in to, anywhere in North America in under 5 hours.

Rio you have to connect a few times and takes 10-15 hours for anyone in North America to get to.

They did Toronto x 3 by the time this fight happens, and while the last two haven't had GSP, Jones is suppose to be the future and I don't think they sold it out.

Ufc Events Attended:

Ufc Fight Night: Davis Vs Nogueira, Ufc 131, Ufc 143, Ufc 148, Ufc on Fox 5, Ufc 156, Ufc on Fox 8

Good point, realized it should be in fact in a neutral territory. Which means one thing it must be held in wait for it...Rungrado May Day Stadium in Pyongyang, North Korea with a whopping 150,000 capacity.
