And at the same time the fight Silva is interested in (GSP) is a huge fight that will probably do big numbers - The fact that GSP has expressed an interest is also a big plus.

I agree that Silva shouldn't be allowed to pick and chose who he fights, but he should be allowed to be part of the decision-making proces as it is in both his and Zuffa's interest that he fights big fights and fights he's interested in during this, late part of his career.
If they want to do the fight that's fine, I don't think anyone is against it, the thing is though GSP doesn't fight next month, he comes back in November and he's coming off a 19 month layoff. There's no assurance he'll ever be the same fighter he was before and it's not written in stone he beats Condit.

I agree - A lot of things are still up in the air, both regarding Condit and also GSP's knee... We've already seen how serious knee problems can be with Shogun.

This discussion will, for the time being, be based on hopes and opinions rather than fact

a year or two ago when this superfight talk started everyone wanted the fight, but they wanted it when GSP moved up.... no one mentioned silva moving down

do you think for one second that if shogun was the LHW champion, silva would be stepping down to WW or would he go up to LHW?? exactly..... if u ask me, silva is pulling a bitch move here

i know silva is loved on thisforum, and rightly so.... but can no one else see that this is a bitch move??
I'm sure someone has already pointed it out.

But Anderson wants to fight the p4p #2, if he doesn't want to come up then he will try to go down he says.

And Mayweather refuses to fight the #2 P4P and Pacman is the smaller fighter..
Mayweather already made a guy 2 weight classes smaller get fat and come up to his weight to fight him. Mayweather would never cut that weight and go down in class now.

Wait what was the question again?

Mayweather just fought a 37 year old Lightweight, made him move up to 144 on agreed catchweight, and then showed up at 147 anyway.

So the OP doesn't really follow boxing and is just a troll.

Good job taking the bait guys.

If he was baiting he would have said imagine Jon Jones dropping to 185.

Oh yeah....Chris Leben, didn't he lose to Munoz btw? FYI, he's not getting his big GSP superfight because the Natural Born Killer is gonna take GSP's head off, so Anderson might as well sign up now, otherwise he's just wssting everyone's time.
You don't know what you are talking about. Anderson didn't get the title shot for beating Leben. He got it because Franklin had demolished all of his challengers and the UFC let the fans vote for the next challenger. The fans voted for Silva.

Munoz was never truly top 3 has he has never even beaten a top 5. The Leben fight was a joke. He beat a drugged out fighter. And he has only ever beaten one good wrestler he has faced. That was Aaron Simpson. The other three - Matt Hamill, Yushin Okami, and Chris Weidman - all beat him. Two of the three koing him.

So Chris Weidman truly does need a better win than that for a shot against Anderson.

As for Condit beating GSP... I don't think so. GSP is good at all areas of the game but his knee and ring rust may play a part. I do believe Condit is his biggest test to date.

That is not dead which can eternal lie and withs strange aeons even death may die.

Anderson was the number 1 WW, a top 5 MW outside the UFC.

Anderson coming to the UFC was a lot like Hector Lombard coming over, except he was much more legit.

Comparing him to the Mark Munoz killer is a joke.

And no I don't mean Matt Hamill.

Then give the title shot to Tim Boestch, no excuse for this guy to be holding the division hostage.

I'm not interested in it unless GSP has at least 2 fights beforehand. Preferably moving up in weight, too.
