If he goes back and says..."Well since everybody doesn't like my choice I will fight Sonnen" Then I think people will swoop down for the kill. He has made his choice and now he has to live with it. He looked weak as hell today and scared. So going back on that will make him that much weaker .

What did he expect was gonna happen? Everybody say "Ah it'll be ok he has the right to refuse a fight ...who cares a whole card got scrapped because he was scared"????

Well the thing is jackson said it would be the biggest mistake of his career to take the fight. The reality is actually it will be the biggest mistake of his career to turn it down or at least it seems to be turning out that way.
Man if it happens it would be something. If chael could win it would be some fairytale for him

Yes he does have time. It should be a non-title fight to salvage the event. Even Weidman and Jamie Varner (several weight classes below) offered to take it. Reading those tweets was really sad man; Houghland, Prince Albert, The Spaniard, etc. Only King Mo and Bendo had his back. Why can't Gustaf take it or if it is a title fight pay JBJ double his usual fee.

I didn't want to comment anymore on this subject, but this is something I havn't seen before on this scale. Especially because Chael is not a threat at all. He has a 5% chance of winning. JBJ would actually be made out a hero (ironically) had he truly considered this very carefully without the influence of the Sith Lord in his ears.

Beats Chael. There's no doubt in my mind about this. Chael poses no threat.
- saves the card
- major PR buzz about a champion willing to take on all comers
- props from all sponsors, fellow fighters, media, and especially HIS BOSSES
- 100% sure JBJ gets mad bonus pays from UFC, PPV cuts, more sponsors

This is the type of scenario that puts companies out of business. No UFC = no show = no $$$

Anderson Silva took on James Irvin in a fight which had absolutely no upsides. He did it as a favor for Dana to counter the other organization.

Imagine Jon Jones announced an apology and a sudden rash decision to leave Greg Jacksons camp.

That would be great.

There's no doubt in my mind that it was Greg Jackson who has been poisoning this kids mind. Just like he has done with Carlos Condit and the GSP situation.

It's too late to change his mind now, the damage is done. On another note, I want to point out the circular logic that so many people are using here for some reason:

A. Jon Jones shouldn't have been afraid to fight Chael since he's just a MW with no training and at a severe disadvantage.
B. I'm really mad because Jon Jones prevented me from getting to see a fight between a LHW GOAT champion and a MW with no training and a severe disadvantage!

Basically, I dont understand why anybody wanted to see that fight anyways. Dana is a moron for even considering a freak show like that in the first place, and he is making the UFC look like a joke.
