Lets be honest here... Dana White wouldnt allow 2 of the p4p best to go at it on 8 days notice with Anderson being at a clear disadvantage because he didnt just finish a training camp and the fight to not have the advertisement it deserves.

That, and booking Jones-Anderson with only 8 days to promote wouldn't be wise. I wonder if they actually had legitimate chance of making this fight but didn't, seeing as the card was already scrapped and they got zero heat for it.

Not sure how these things work but would it be possible that a fully booked Jones-Anderson could make them more money than they lost here?

It could, but were talking about a super fight here, say on 8 day notice it makes them 10 mill, whereas a regular full time production could make over 100 mill. Silva vs Jones Superbowl weekend is massive.

Some seem to have misread this.
Anderson offered to fight a random 205er, so that there's a worthy main event.
It would have been like: "JJ is not fighting at 251, instead we will have AS fight "a LHW-Fighter" (not JJ and Chael) as the main event"

Regardless of who the opponent is I would have brought this card if Silva was on it. Just imagine Silva vs Sonnen 3?

Not with Jones wanting to fight as often as possible... whilst simultaneously handpicking opponents to maximize PPV $$$ for himself.

Hendo is less important to Dana and the Fertittas' bottom line than Jones.

The rest of the card wasn't NEARLY enough to carry a PPV anyway.

My milkshake brings all the girls to the barn.

MOO!

I said plenty of bad things about silva after his antics in the last fight and pre-fight, but he just proved what it is to be a champion and a true fighter. He has a vastly greater legacy then JJ and he was willing to put it on the line on 8 days notice. Silva basically turned the screw on JJ there, maybe he has his own ideas about fighting him to unify the titles now...

Not sure what to make of this. Either Silva would have been a huge company man here, or he called Dana figuring that the event was already cancelled and he'd look like a million bucks. Who knows honestly....yesterday was nuts lol.

Anderson didnt offer to fight JBJ, he said he would fight ANOTHER LHW fighter to save the card but not that he would fight JBJ.

Also if JBJ didnt accept to fight sonnen on 8 days notice no way in hell would he risk fighting Anderson

THE CHAMP IS HERE!!!

Anderson willing to go up a weight when he hasn't even been thinking about a fight.

Jones refuses to fight a 185er who wasn't expecting to fight while he is in full fight shape.

Funny Stuff!
