Chael did earn both title shots against Anderson..
Dan Miller, Okami, Marquardt = title shot
Almost beats Anderson
Stann, Bisping = title shot.
That seems fair enough to me. Bones is just talking without using his noggin again.

It is one and done in the playoffs for soccer & football. That is pretty much the equivalent of a championship fight.

So Jones is willing to sacrifice other fighters ability to make a paycheck? Sounds extremely selfish to me. I guess Jones is the "decider" when it comes to who deserves to make money and who doesn't.

Just because he explains it as a sport doesn't mean it can be compared to MLB, NFL, NBA etc...
Yes they have a week (or less) to prepare for their opponent, but they still know exactly who they're going to face MONTHS prior to the season, while in this situation, Chael just pops up out of nowhere with 8 days notice. Pretty unfair comparison imo...

Except in the playoffs(which a championship fight is compatible to), where you only have 2-6 days prior notice depending on the sport.

I think what Jackson is getting at is that Sonnen has been training with Henderson, so he knows what game plan Hendo would use, and is more prepared for JBJ than some of you think.

Jibberish. Hendo would stand and bang with Jones, Sonnen would do nothing of that sort.
JBJ would have had one of the most distinctive advantages over Chael than anyone Chael has ever fought in his career.
This was a selfish move made my selfish people with bullshit reasoning.

Not exactly.
With a playoff system, no one team is defending it's championship, while the other team is playing to earn it(Like in MMA). Both teams are playing for a vacant championship. That be equivalent to UFC having a tournament style system and having everybody fight, but only one guy wins the belt. Then the next year, the fighter loses the belt, and everything restarts.
The real reason why Jones denied the offer to fight Chael was not because how how dangerous an opponent Chael was (Or this case, wasn't), but because they wanted to deny Chael from skipping everybody he would've had to fight, and going straight to the title shot despite coming off a title shot loss. Greg Jackson loosely outlines this in the video.

That is pure selfishness, plain and simple. They are willing to sacrifice countless other fighters in their desire to prove who deserves a shot & who does not. There is no other way to look at.

I don't think so. Everybody knows what gameplan Sonnen is going to use against them, it's a matter of stopping him. Hendo would've stood with him in hopes of landing that overhand while Sonnen would have pressured him from the go and try to take him down. He didn't train for a double leg quite like Chael has.
It would've been a whole different fight for Jones.

Chael was going to give JJ his purse just for accepting the fight,
