you're a genius. Belcher showed he can swim with sharks and come out unscathed when he toyed with palhares on the floor in his last bout. This fight, (Lombard vs Belcher)in my opinion, would solidify him as a true contender, especially if he comes out as the same Belcher who seems to be hellbent on beating people at their own games. Not QUITE the same test he would face if he fought vitor, but equally as alluring in my eyes. I'm going to refer to you as joe silva 2.0 from now on

I think im the only person who thinks Belcher is a tad overrated to be discussed as being in a possible number 1 contender fight....

Weidman, Shields and Boetsch would all be sufficient opponents

That probably has a lot to do with how Vitor ended up getting the title shot against jones.

I'm well aware.....but you might want to get a doctor's opinion on your eyesight if that looked like lombard at his best. He had multiple opportunities to finish boetsch but simply didn't capitalize, a trait he rarely, if ever, has had a problem with in the past. UFC jitters adds another victim to it's list, but with vitor tied into his fight with jones and boetsch being much less than impressive in his last two fights, lombard seems like a legitimate next step for belcher to further his reputation. A KO of one of the scariest additions to the UFC middleweight class has alot more chance of throwing him into title contention than a KO of a dude who looks like my dad....

A fight with Lombard is a lose/lose for Allan. If he KOs him everybody is going well of course he should he is a can crusher whose hype train got derailed. If he loses to Hector it will kick him further down the ladder to a title shot. Fact is Hector lost that fight and looked like crap in the fight. He needs to beat a top guy is two before he is anywhere near the title shot.
