All could have been avoided if they said something.

I think it's obvious they were prepping for Chael to come in and fight in Hendo's place.

Yes. That would have been a month of prep as opposed to a week and a half. I get Hendo wanting to continue training but the right thing to do would have been to make the UFC aware. Then a backup plan could have been formed. Instead we got this big cluster.

what I don't get is why they didn't spend a little more time trying to plan things out instead of cancelling it. Just make up a headliner using two of

-sonnen
-anderson
-machida
-evans
-shogun
-rampage
-weidman
-gustaffson
-wanderlei

add a co-headliner with somebody like sonnen that will take a fight at any moment and boom, a significantly worse card, but still a card.

Like I suspected, Henderson jacked this up from the beginning. Had they been able to go to Jones three weeks ago with a new opponent he might have took the fight maybe not but Dana could have saved the card with that kind of time.

Dan Henderson did mess up by not saying something right away.

But people that think they were prepping Chael Sonnen are reaching so far.

Dan Henderson AS ALWAYS tries to fight through his injuries and make sure he is going to show up on the date he says he is going to show up. He wanted to fight on 1 leg but Dana White made him see his doctor and the doctor said you are not allowed. That is all there is to it.

Get past the conspiracy theories you jokers.

And Sonnens 3 weeks compared to Jon Jones 12 weeks. Even if the conspiracy theory is true Jon Jones still had no reason to turn down the fight lmao

Its been known that Henderson was injured for 3 weeks for a while now. It changes nothing. Henderson wanted to go through with the fight cause thats the kind of man he is and the doctors didnt let him. Then the little brat Jon Jones who prepared for 12 weeks had to pull out because there is a change in opponents. What a embarrassment to himself.

You do realize that most of those guys have fights planned??? And im not even going to bother mentioning the rest of the reasons that wasnt an option.

Maybe couple months ago when the card was being planned they could have worked out something BUT at the time alot of the guys were just coming off fights anyway. So this just isnt a realistic option.

I understood it that Dan was going to fight, but it just wasn't getting any better and Dana had a UFC doc look at it and they told him Dan wouldn't be cleared by the commission.

I'm pretty sure Dana has know Dan was hurt since it happened. Dan was going to just fight on one leg, but the commission said it wouldn't clear him. That is why it was such short notice.

Just guessing but..

I think didnt want it to get out that he might be fighting with an injury so he kept it quiet, then as it got worse he found he could not go through as it was. So his intentions were that the fight was never off 3 weeks out and he didnt want people to know it was hurt, this sht leaks.

I think its fighters responsibility to report any injuries to UFC with confidentiality and no fears that their opponents will know about them.

That's why they should be reporting to Joe Silva, matchmaker, who can find a few options and report to the other side there is a slight chance your match made be change but keep training for your opponent.

Then you have a few fighters just watching on the sideline for any update but be ready to step up so we don't have a mess like UFC 149 or something rarely seen like UFC 151.

Sure these fighters on the sideline made not have a full camp or anything but they can figured out if they wants to fight or not.

Then you have the UFC deciding to throw the match to another event or just cancelling it and making better decision in the fairness to the fans that make this sport what it is.

Dana cancelled the card, its not like the UFC has never put on a weak card before. There were other options.

I am not a JJ fan, not even close but its not his fault, he could have saved it but dana is the one who killed it,
Its done now so I'm done bitching about it.
This has shed a light on the true nature of several "people" I was on the fence about.. not a total loss..
