That you believe the ufc is partially responsible also does not mean that Jones gets any less hate. It doesnt change Jones action in the slightest. It just means that the UFC should also be getting some hate and with the stuff iv read on this forum the UFC is getting exactly that.

That said Jones agreed to carry the event when he signed the contract to headline it. He knew he was the main attraction and knew if he backs out then the UFC wont be able to get another title fight to replace him. The UFC helped build his stock by putting the focus on him and his fight and we all saw how he repaid them. (Again what he did is disgusting and deserving of hate)

In the fight business it is common that the headlining fight is the whole reason people buy the event. Go look at the golden days of boxing and some of the biggest PPVs had a spectacular main event and the rest of the fights wernt even mentioned by anyone.
Now im not saying that the UFC should follow boxing in this category, i certainly dont want that. But what i do want and alot of other people want is alot of events. This is also a time where the UFC is trying to expand and get their product out there to the masses. So when you hold alot of events star quality is obviously going to get spread thin. For people to complain about a fight card that had "Hendo - Jones" headlining is simply because we have gotten spoiled. But i was excited to sit down watch some dog fights from people who havent established themselves yet because i am a FIGHT FAN. And then i was even more excited to watch JON JONES! fight Dan Henderson or even Chael Sonnen to cap off the night. (Jones who i consider one of the most exciting fighters currently in MMA and Henderson who i believe produces the best 1 punch knockouts.) I had absolutely no problems with the event the UFC was delivering, it was perfectly fine. Probably would have had more exciting fights then events that have all these star studded names on there. So that is why i am not hating on the UFC, because i see absolutely nothing they have to apologize for. Except maybe that they didnt try and bribe Jones with a sht load of cash and appease to his greedy selfish nature and convince him to honor his word.
Yup. Just that, The quality is thin. ANd it becomes thiner and thiner.

Because they are messing up big time on the cards they deliver, by spreading their cards irrationally.

You say you don't want them to follow the boxing model. But that is exactly what they're doing. One card with a big main event + a lot of average names.

ZUFFA owns SF right now.
Why not transfer some of the fighters there - the young up and comers, the "newbies", the TUF fighters + some names that don't deliver anymore in the UFC, but ones that still have some game left in them...etc.
And put them of free tv so they can make a name for themselves, so they can become known to the casual fans.
So they can promote the sport.
Make SF something like a second league - where you build yourself for the UFC.
And keep the big names, the champs + the contenders for the big cards. Give fans - hardcore + casual - the best fights they can have. Sell the best product possible.

Another example of the UFC messing up - IMO of course - is the eay they run TUF atm.
Remember at first? It was a show meant to discover new fighters, new talents. The winner would get a contract with the UFC and the chance to prove himself against the best in the world.
Occasionally, the runner up would get a contract too.

Nowadays, after a TUF season is over, you see half of the TUF contestants getting to fight in the UFC, even though they're sh*t.
By doing this, the UFC downgrades TUF a lot. It kills the essence of the show.

The UFC hs slowly grown into an *Empire* - expanding more and more. And as history tought us, for thousand and thousand of years, the bigger the empire, the harder it is to control/run it.

"Edit" - And to point out the difference between what the UFC is doing and Boxing, is that the UFC is pumping these events out constantly. Boxing always had very few events compared to the UFC. Anyway i need my beauty sleep. Night bud.

I dont disagree with alot of that you said here. But one thing i definitely disagree with is the fact that you are saying "They are messing up".
Giving me alot of cards with amazing headliners and "Good fights" on the maincard whether they have name value or not isnt messing up.

I want 2 events every month, most people want 2 events every month. Sure the cards arnt going to be as stacked as they are if we have 1 event each month BUT we get more exciting fights this way more often, the rankings or whatever you call it gets to keep moving, Fighters get to make names for themselves more often, Fighters arnt being put on the waiting list constantly. Hell man we both know its getting more often that fights that are ment to be "exciting" or have name value fighters are becoming duds and its actually the prelims that are the most exciting part of the night. So giving me fewer events with bigger named opponents who arnt interested in "bringing it" to me would be a huge mistake.

That to me isnt messing up. And obviously to the UFC it aint messing up either.

I also think the recent stint of cards that arnt amazing all thrughout is because of all the damn injuries. Imagine of all the injuries we know about!?. THEN imagine all the injuries we DONT know about. Iv been actually impressed with how fell the UFC has been handling it. HELL if i was them i would have considered getting rid of the health care they are providing. Cause since they have provided that for their fighters all of the sudden everyone and their mom is injured every fight camp.

The ultimate fight i completely agree. Hell the participants on the first couple TUFs were world class athletes. Most of them held really amazing credentials whether in wrestling or somewhere else. These days the participants dont even have good MMA records. A few have NONE.

And lets not even begin to talk about how irritating it is when they put belts on hold due to coaching TUF.

Hell i stopped watching TUF and i love watching fights no matter who is fighting. When im channel surfing il miss parts of my favorite shows just because there are some 5 month old MMA fights on tv or something lol.
