New rule to insure we dont have the JBJ situation happen again
I think the UFC should implament a new rule that excludes any champion from turing down a fight on short notice when their original opponent pulls out from injury. I am fine with anyone else having the right to do so, as long as they are not the champion. If you wear a UFC belt, you should never turn down a scheduled fight just because the opponent has changed. The champion is the champion for a reason, and if you want to wear the belt, thats just part of the deal. If you dont like it, GO PLAY CHECKERS!!

There's no need for a rule like that. No one would be stupid enough to repeat what Jones has done. They've seen how badly it turned out for him.

How would two belts have helped this situation? Do both champs need to train to fight on the same card that way the reserve champ can step in a case like this? I'm sure you'll say oh but Jon would have taken the fight because then he would have feared people saying the other champ is better. Except the other champ at 205 would be someone he has already beat. And how would beating Sonnen have helped Jones' case as the best in that was the scenario.
That is still the dumbest ******* thing I have ever heard.

This is a terrible idea, people could collude to switch challengers on short notice and catch the champion off guard.

Maybe I jumped the gun when I said that was the worst post ever. Still a terrible idea, but this is worse.

Who gives a crap. The champion should be the best and be ready to fight ANYONE they put in front of him as long as he is in shape.

Yeah, lets let the challengers bring in steel chairs and chainsaws too. Who cares, HE'S THE CHAMP DAMMIT! SMASH THAT CHAINSAW AND ENTERTAIN US!
