Jon Jones "I will accept full responsibility"

Quote:

“Carrying the cross for my company’s decision. If someone has to take the blame, I will accept full responsibility for the way UFC 151 was canceled,” Jones tweeted. “I want to sincerely apologize to all the other athletes/fans who’s time and money was waisted (sic).

“I feel terrible about the way that was handled.”

For the first time in a long time Jones has said something that MAYBE isnt phony. Though i think he should realize he isnt "carrying the cross for his company" but in FACT he is carrying his own cross. As Frankie Edgar said "I'd like to say I would (take the fight). I don't know what my team would say, but ultimately I'm the one to make that decision."

And so was Jones.

But he is starting to realize (I THINK) what he did was embarrassing for himself as a champion. And selfish for him as a human being who can actually afford to turn down a fight even after spending all that money on a 3 month training camp.

Im guessing most of the undercard fighters ended up losing money on this fiasco because according to Lauzon a full training camp costs around 20k.

Iv read conflicting reports if the fighters got the show up base pay (I like to think they did) but thats still maybe 6k for most undercard fighters. Alot of them are counting on the win bonus and possible bonus money for having a good showing. And they are definitely counting on the win to improve their careers for the future.

You guys know what i was just thinking. This has given the UFC a bit of bad P.R. themselves. So if the UFC publicly stated that they gave all the people on the undercard/Maincard a 20k check to apologize for having to cancel the event. They could end up looking pretty good in the Media.

"Carrying the cross..." ?!?!?!

Even when this guy "apologizes" he sounds like he's patting himself on the back.

Jesus didn't tap... but his favourite disciple will gladly back down from a fight if the money/notoriety/reward is not to his liking.:praise01:

Yeah exactly. But its obvious being a hollier then god douche is who Jon Jones really is. So everything he does is going to have a hint of that (atleast a hint). Usually its more then a hint. Haha

Imagine if the UFC just went on with the card without the title fight being on there. Lmao... that would possibly have been the dirtiest thing the UFC has ever done.

Even dirtier than trying to bring Mark Coleman out of retirement as Lesnar's first victim in the octagon... DUDE! C'mon!:thumb02:

Yeah that was pretty ******* dirty lol. Then they fed him to Shogun who was supposed to just tear through him but lucky for Coleman the only person as bad as him that night just happened to be Shogun.

AND THEN they created Shogun vs Chuck while Shogun was in the locker room hoping to feed Chuck the worst version of Shogun we have seen. lol

Ohh the good ol times. When champions didnt pull out because 3 months to train wasnt enough.

But selling people a PPV with a title fight that is carrying the card and then keeping the show going after the Champ pulls out 8 days before would be pretty shitty.

"The UFC needs needs a scapegoat, and I volunteered myself because I am THAT strong of a person! Go ahead persecute me! I am the one who is guilty!" (wink wink to the UFC)

That's not an apology even by today's standards.

I don't think poor jon even understands what the words mean when he says "I will take full responsibility".

Exactly whose loss is he volunteering to be responsible for?

Is he writing checks?

"Carrying the cross for my company's decision"

Unbelievable. The self-righteousness Jon Jones possesses is honestly pretty disgusting. I've been trying to take some of the heat off Jones because this honestly is not all his fault like the media and all the people are making it seem, but I'm not going to defend someone who likens himself to a God.

Jones is about to find out just how powerful the media is.

yeah, and they don't get squat from the sponsors if their product doesn't show on the event.
