What I find funny is in a year after JBJ has cleaned out the LHW division again everyone will have forgotten about how much time they wasted on this while DW is calling JBJ "The #1 P4P, no question".

I still have JBJ at #2 P4P. I'm sure DW has him in the same position, if not #1 over AS or #3 behind GSP. This stuff doesn't change his accomplishments, and if he does clean out the division (again?) and we forget about this stuff, then he has rose to the occassion and earned his fans back. What is your problem with that happening?

But when you let people down, you can expect them to turn on you.
People do though. Lesnar beat just Herring and got a title shot. Machida beat just Couture and got a title shot, and was next in line to get one after beating just Bader. Obviously you want to have people earn shots with a string of wins, but it doesn't always work out.

Bones didn't lost THAT many fans in the grand scheme of things. Did he lose a lot of fans that browse the internet for MMA? Sure. But that doesn't make up all that much of the people who buy his PPV's. Most of those fans either don't know or won't care, as they'll still think of him as the guy with the crazy shots and highlight reel finishes.

But cut this guy some slack, i mean he is the only champion I can recall to tell Dana lets get another fight. How quickly we forget, this is truely a what have you done for me "today" type crowd.

This is a fair point. He has been willing to fight more than most recently. He is young can heal much quicker and since money seems to be a big motivator for him, I think he is trying to grab as much as he can now while in his prime. That seems smart. Although from a PPV standpoint I think turning down Chael was a mistake. I think he could have made a crap ton of money by taking that fight. I don't think Chael deserved the shot but I would have paid to see it. I was definitely watching if he had fought Henderson, but I am pretty sure I will not pay to see him fight Vitor.

Man, Jones vs Sonnen would be a very interesting back up fight. Thats MMA. Jones could, on paper, make Sonnen a fool, but I don't see anybody controlling Sonnen on the ground at will.

As for the Vitor fight, well, again, in MMA anything can happen...I see only way Vitor will win: Guns blazing in a light speed sequence he is famous for.

Yes a guy on a "winning streak" in (his own division)with momentum being handed a title shot when the only other legit contender is injured. Is really the same as a guy from MW who is 0-2 (depending on who u ask) fresh off a title loss being handed another title shot. You are really going to compare the 2 scenarios, really?

It does matter if you give a damn about the sanctity of the sport moving forward. In principle it just makes a mockery of MMA and sets the sport backwards
If Chael had won against Bones at 205 in a non title match then everyone would be calling Chael the champ.
Hed just be a paper champ who has earned the right for a rematch (as far as i'm concerned) Because he didnt earn this title shot he was just handed one and as we know in mma anything can happen

To Live is 2 suffer, 2 survive? well that is 2 find meaning in the suffering

Everything is about opportunity. It is unclear and subjective to state whos is next in line. In a first look, we could, on paper, say Sonnen obviously did not earn this title shot, but wait, he was granted one, period. He was not first or second option, but he was there when called, so I say he earned it one way or another. That's MMA.

As a Champion, you don't protect your title walking away from a match, at least on my book. This I could say is a mockery to the sport.
