The father of MMA fighter Wanderlei Silva, Orlando Pinheiro da Silva, died in a car accident this afternoon. The accident occurred between the cities of Castro and Abapã, where his father lived in a fighter's site. The car he was in crashed head-on with a vehicle and the driver also died instantly. A child was injured and was taken to hospital in serious condition. The body of Orlando Pinheiro da Silva was taken to the Forensic Institute of Ponta Grossa, in the Campos Gerais region. Burial will be in Abapã.

its easy to forget some times that our favorite fighters are real life human beings because they are so "larger than life" typically. God Bless the Silva family in their time of need. Very sad.
