Mike Swick vs Matt Brown added to UFC ON FOX 5

Quote:
Future UFC rosters have grown recently with a flurry of new bouts announced and several fights from the cancelled UFC 151 event shifting to other fight cards.

The UFC on Fox 5 event slated for Dec. 8 in Seattle is a benefactor of both with UFC officials announcing two new bouts for the fight card and shifting two UFC 151 bouts over, as well.

Going top-heavy with a UFC lightweight title fight between Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz and bouts pitting BJ Penn vs. Rory MacDonald and Shogun Rua vs. Alexander Gustafsson, UFC on Fox 5 also adds a true heavyweight bout between Brendan Schaub and Lavar Johnson. The other fight added on Monday sees Mike Swick make a quick return to the Octagon to square off with Matt Brown in welterweight action.

The two bouts making the transfer after the UFC 151 cancellation are Daron Cruickshank vs. Henry Martinez and Tim Means vs. Abel Trujillo.

Schaub (8-3) is looking to bounce back after consecutive losses to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Ben Rothwell in his last two fights. He is currently serving a stint as one of Shane Carwin’s assistant coaches on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter on FX.

Johnson (17-6) is also trying to get back on track after losing to Stefan Struve his last time out, after having won his first two fights in the Octagon.

Swick (15-4) recently made a successful comeback in the Octagon, knocking out DaMarques Johnson 1:20 into the second round of their fight at UFC on Fox 4. After having been out of the sport for two-and-a-half years, Swick is ready to jump right back in the mix.

Skating on the edge of his UFC exodus after losing three consecutive fights in 2010, Brown (15-11) has gone 4-1 since and is currently riding a three-fight winning streak.

Yesss!!! I cant wait. This is a great fight for Swick on his way back up.

Good style match up and i see this being a good fast paced fight.

Ofcourse seeing as how Mike Swick is my favorite. Im going Swick via TKO round 2.

They both have the heart and the drive. Mike Swick is faster and more talented. I'll be truly amazed of Matt Brown wins this fight.

Seeing how he got tagged and almost finished by DaMarques I would pick Matt Brown to finish him. Brown is a lot more durable than Johnson.
