Anderson Silva on Chris Weidman: 'I Didn't Refuse Anything, I'm Here to Fight!

This is good, Weidman could be Silva;s toughest test and could beat him - truly deserves it after beating Maia on short notice and taking out someone who was ready for a no.1 contender fight not long ago.

This absolutely should be Silva's next fight, Weidman is the 3rd best MW in the world behind Sonnen and is definitely the greatest challenge for Silva within the MW division at the moment.

Bleacher Report isn't a credible source but if Anderson really said that then why isn't it happening?

If the rumors are true and Aldo can't fight Koch put it on the Brazil card, put it on the NYE card, or put it on the first card of 2013 in Brazil, Russia, Japan or some place like that.

Chris Weidman is the most overrated UFC fighter right now. I've never ever seen someone get so much hype after 9 pro fights and their biggest win against MARK MUNOZ!

Cain Velasquez at 8-0 won the Heavyweight title, so will you and everyone else please stop bringing up experience? It's pretty obvious it doesn't matter if he's 9-0, outside of one fight he took on 11 days notice when he cut 32 pounds he's dominated everyone he's fought and he's finished everyone he's had a proper training camp for. Anyone who has seen his fights besides the Maia one knows he's a special talent and is the best fight for Anderson at 185.

I'm convinced half of this forum hasn't even seen Weidman fight yet and if they have, it's the Maia fight which isn't indicative of his true ability at all.

Munoz was going through the division, Maia and Leban and was about to fight Sonnen for a shot Silva. His only blemish at MW was a slip decision to Okami. Weidman utterly dominated him, from start to finish. That after beating Maia on 11 days notice....who deserves it more?

two words and a 2-1 record: Brock Lesnar.

ok so everyone who gave anderson shit for ducking weidman can do one

he may be the most deserving middleweight but lets all agree that the gap between silva and the rest of the division is so large that superfights are a good option atm

maybe its the ufc who doesnt want this fight?

Weidman should fight Belcher or Tim Boestch for #1. Munoz was coming off of surgery, and one could make an argument Munoz should have been a fight away from a shot as well.

Weidman deserves a shot if he truely feels ready. The guy still has untapped potential and will keep improving with time especially his striking under Longo.

Its good to see Silva make this statement as his management seemed to be ducking Weidman. His management need to protect there interests and know Weidman has a chance against Silva so they want to protect Silva.
Silva is a P4P great and showed it with his statement, respect to him.
