Carlos Condit will succeed where others have failed.








After GSP Destroys him in the cage, he'll still be a great WW, unlike others who left the cage as broken shells of their former selves.

Probably and what sucks the most is their probably going to promote it as a champion vs interim champion or sth stupid like that when Condit is no champion in nobodies eyes. His only holding a placeholder contender trophy.

I want Condit to win, but don't think he will.

If Condit wins, we open up an entire division of contenders for him (and the less dominant champion makes for an exciting set of fights). Also, I see Diaz earning the title shot again. He'd be given Kos or something and getting the win quite easily. Then he would call Condit the **** out, and I think Carlos would get really pissed cause he IS a fighter, and he likes to stand and trade, but his fearful style with Diaz is weighing down on him heavy and with the champion's condifence, he'll want to go in and fight like he always does (only to get knocked out )

I'm sure he will after his year long suspension - you know, that thing that is legitimately keeping him away - is up.

GSP only has one real weakness, and that's forcing him into a brawl without getting taken down. You need to get the fight into medium range and force him to exchange without letting him open the range and reset, take you down, or close in & clinch and then do the takedown. Good luck with that, no one at WW has GSP's speed and no one controls range as well as he does. Only way to make it happen is to get inside GSP's head and knock him off his gameplan.

Impossible? No. But it's probably about as likely as me bedding a UFC ring girl.

I'm not simply because I think Diaz is starting to hate MMA. He's definitely a contender if he chooses to return.

It's the UFC he hates. He's started to feel like Fedor with no Pride or Strikeforce to keep him amused. He was planning on doing pro boxing before UFC if I'm right, but they handed him the title shot to bring him over.

Things could go downhill big time for Diaz. He was over MMA, and got brought over for a Welterweight Title fight in a promotion he wasn't really interested in. He didn't turn up to a press conference and got taken out of the fight. He destroys his opponent and gets the title shot. The champion is pulled out due to injury. His replacement uses avoidance tactics and won't engage Vs Diaz. He is then banned for a year for having marajuana in his sytem.

That's A LOT of stuff to piss him off. Wether his fault or not you can understand why he might be sour. He has now called out the greatest fighter in the world, in a non title fight, who showed interested in the fight too. The owner of the company has comdemned the idea, and in the wake of the suspension (and his own personal dislike), he will probably stick to the rules and make Diaz have another 3 fights before he gets the title shot (which is fair). Diaz will still feel like he was robbed, twice, of his title shot (wether he was or not) and everything will be getting him down.

I won't be surprised to see him lose another fight in the UFC (by lay and pray or avoidance tactics), quit the company, have a fighter or two in One FC and then retire, only coming back to stand behind his brother (the lightweight champion )

Would suck but...

I could definitely see them using his name to rocket him back to the top. Joe Rogan talking in the promo how much felt Diaz won the Condit fight, the style he offers to GSP etc. And he'd be away ling enough to get the sour taste out of peoples minds.

Don't get me wrong, Condit is a dangerous fighter but I don't think he's going to enjoy being GSP's comeback fight. I'm curious what Jackson's plan will be considering he has trained both of these guys. I would suspect that Carlos will be working off of his back for the majority of this camp with lots of striking too. He should have a few go-to submissions from the bottom to compliment his striking. Either way this one ends with GSP on top, literally.
