How would Anderson Silva do VS Bones Jones while it remained standing?

Anderson is clearly the better striker but Bones has a formidable height size and reach advantage + a style that plays on these strengths.

Also Anderson isnt usually the inside fighter.

I say anderson with his TKD background can handle Bones kicks, and has good enough head movement (great in fact) and footwork to be able to get inside and enough power to KO him.

But on the other hand, he will have long range Knees and elbows to deal with on the inside, and long arms that can simply push back his advance, and tie him up.

It's hard to say. I think the fight would be standing anyways. If Sonnen struggled to keep him down in Rd 2 of the second fight, Bones wouldnt be able to keep him down or work on the ground.

On the feet, it's very difficult. Anderson Silva is literally unbeatable on the feet at MW, but with that ridiculous reach of Jones, he might be able to land some awesome strikes from the outside as Spider tries to land some kicks.

I think Silva would be the more patient fighter and that would win him the fight. He'd stay out of Jones range, sort of like a juiced up Machida, but he would force Jones to come in. Then he'd use his head movement to slip the straight punches and land some counters, sort of like he did with Forrest except a lot less clean looking. Jones would start to get a little annoyed and go for some takedowns and stuff, but I think Anderson will then gain the striking range and be able to land kicks to the legs and body to take the decision or the knockout.

I'm probably the best at keeping threads on topic of all time.
