I would hope this fight would happen....I know Condit is not going to get past GSP wrestling and it would be nice to see Silva as a 2 division belt holder

Well Silva wouldn't hold two belts (at least not WW and MW) as it'll definitely be a catchweight non-title bout vs. GSP. If Silva fights JBJ later down the line, then maybe two belts, but certainly never WW.

If Condit just bulldozes through GSP then this fight is a no-go. GSP has to really look like his old self to make this an attractive fight, like it has seemed the last two years we've dreamed about it.
If GSP's knee gives him no jip, then this fight has to next on the agenda. But I'd also hate to see the MW division be put on hold.

This is the UFC's super fight. Jones is the new generation and Silva's career is coming to an end. There is no reason to try and end Spider's legacy by having him move up a weight class and fight someone like 12 years his junior. The fight with GSP has been in the works for years and the two are UFC's old guard. GSP might not be as close to calling it a day, but at catchweight, this is the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight of MMA.
I really hope it happens, and I hope Anderson Silva vacates the title for it, GSP beats Condit and we see it at catchweight. GSP still has some more WW fights to go and I think the WW division could do with straightening out, but I don't really care if Silva beats Weidman or anyone else at MW, and with the exception of a fight with Evans I don't see anything else boosting his legacy forward except fights with say Jones, GSP or Diaz. So much makes sense for this fight, so if it happens, he will concrete that GOAT name.

Different situations.
Frankie is the one dropping to 145, Anderson would be the one dropping to 170 or whatever weight they agree to.
The difference is....Frankie doesn't have a belt, Anderson does, and Anderson's using his political ploy to let all the other contenders at 185 eliminate themselves so he doesn't have to fight them.

I'm pulling for Condit over GSP. I know the old Carlos is coming back. Greg Jackson can't take aymore heat anyways.

It would be a great figher because they are great fighters, regardless of either losing their last fight or not.

Kudos to Silva for publicly stating this. I think he's trying to show GSP it isn't about the ego, but about respect. Even if GSP loses to Condit, he'll likely get another title shot in the future to try and regain his title, Silva acknowledges that GSP is one of the greatest MMA fighters to date.
