He was probably pretty disappointed that a guy he has trained with and a Brazilian fought like a bitch. Where every flinch made him flop on his back. I think that is why Silva "clowned" him in the cage. Because he though Leities was clowning the fight by being so afraid.

A lot of people have seen the video where he scrams and hollers at one of his better young students. He wanted him to fight with confidence. He was probably disappointed that Leities fought like that, as a Brazilian and past training partner.

From what I can remember he definitely looked like he was taking it easy...then again Thales was flopping every chance he could get. Decided to watch it again.

Seems weird to say all that because now that you pointed out that you were taking it easy on him you have probably embarrassed him worse then before.

As I thought, he lied (translated with google translator):

Thales rebate 'Spider': 'We were never friends'

"First, let me say that Anderson never attended or New Union, never seen there, we were never friends and acquaintances rather than profession. No doubt he is a great fighter. If he says he feels relieved me because if my 'friend', I disagree. The fight is not over before because both failed. I was heavily criticized after the fight with Anderson, I really should have tried to fight more and more broken up, but the other opponents who came after me did not do much different. Those who tried to standup from frank and exposed themselves, eventually knocked out, and he played in the strategy of taking the fight to the ground he lost the decision, just like me. I find it funny that a champion in his interviews always preaches respect for others and the martial arts give such a statement. I am a fighter and all about the same way, I know what a fighter goes and trains to get up there. We all have good and bad times in his career, after all, life is a true giant wheel, being on top, middle or bottom should always keep us humble and keep quiet about statements that they will not build. There is no super man, we are all human beings. "
