Shane Carwin vs, Roy Nelson TUF 16 Finale Headliner
Quote:
he UFC will host an event on Dec. 15 in Las Vegas. It just won't be UFC on FX 6.
Instead, The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale will take the slot, which is expected to come at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Sin City.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported the event date this past week, but according to the UFC, it'll be the TUF 16 Finale rather than UFC on FX 6.
The event, which is expected to feature a main card on FX and prelims on FUEL TV, concludes the soon-to-debut 16th season of "TUF," the UFC's long-running and groundbreaking reality-competition series. Today, the UFC announced 32 competitors for the show, which features heavyweight contenders Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson as head coaches. Carwin and Nelson also fight at the TUF 16 Finale.
The show uses a traditional single-elimination format, including an immediate elimination round of fights that cuts the fighter pool from 32 to 16 (check out The Ultimate Fighter 16 cast). Those winners become official cast members and will appear each Friday night on the show, which kicks off Sept. 14 on FX.
Unlike "TUF 15" earlier this year, the show uses a traditional pre-taped format and won't feature live fights.
In addition to Carwin vs. Nelson and the tournament final, TUF 16 Finale's undercard likely will feature eliminated cast members, as with past seasons

Two irrelevant heavyweights headlining a finale for an irrelevant reality show? AWESOME!!!
But seriously the UFC needs to put an end to TUF already, it has been played out for a while now. Nobody can maintain interest in a reality show that airs two seasons per year. Even Jersey Shore got old after a few seasons!

Two fighters who's losses are to the current champion and former champion of their division. Super irrelevant!

Dude, we'll get to see how hard Roy Nelson's skull is, and whether Carwin can punch hard enough to knock him out. That's worth it to me, the only thing that would be better is Mark Hunt vs. Nelson in a battle of the iron chinned fatties.

I think Carwin's got enough power to crack Roy's chin, those things don't last forever.

Carwin is on a 2-fight losing streak, hasn't fought in 14 months, and is 37 years old coming off a serious injury.
Roy Nelson is 2-3 in his last five fights, is fat enough to be a natural middleweight, and is 36 years old.
Like I said, IRRELEVANT

And yet everybody but you wants to see the fight. That probably says something.

A good match up is a good match, regardless of records and places in divisions. So tired of seeing MMA fans spout off about irrelevance. Its all about the fight.
