The only fight I can think of that didn't get made was Lesnar/Fedor which he did everything he could and GSP/Diaz which was out of his hands.

Yeah Dana does a pretty good at following that.

But people are morons and think it means he will just snap his finger and make every fight fans want to see. As soon as a fight does not get made "OH I THOUGHT YOU MADE FIGHTS FANS WANT TO SEE!! BULLSHT!" like bunch of clowns. Dana tries pretty damn hard to make the fights people are asking for BUT it also has to make sense to a certain extent and the time needs to be right. So not every fight is going to be made just because the fans want it.

The OP annoyed me too. Dana and Joe are awesome at match-making and within reason give the fans what they want. Of course they can't do everything but generally they give us the best they can and with the increased amount of cards (the current drought excluded) that's pretty hard to do.

OP, what fights have not been made that the fans want to see? (Excluding fighters who were not signed to the UFC)

The only fights I want to see that don't look like they'll be happening are all surrounding Nick Diaz. I almost died at the though of the Anderson Silva fight (which I still think should happen) and the fight with GSP (which was understandable because the UFC won't let the fighters rule the roost).

Everyone has little fights they would like to see, but the superfights that can be made are in the process.

Anderson Silva Vs GSP is the biggest fight ever for MMA, and it's looking like it will be made without too much effort. I personally don't think Jones Vs Silva is a relevent fight to make (Does a prime 24 year old really deserve to snatch the legacy of an aging Silva?).

Fights people want to see:-

GSP Vs Silva - In the works.
Silva Vs Jones - Will probably never happen.
JDS Vs Overeem - Should be in the works next year. Was arranged with unforseeable circumstances.
JDS Vs Jones - If Jones continues to dominate, moves up, and earns his place, it will happen.
Aldo Vs Edgar - Arranged.
Diaz Vs GSP - Was arranged with unforseeable circumstances. Diaz has to earn his place.

The UFC has not really just let anything slide without it being taken care of. Jones and Silva is the only fight that can't really happen. Jones and JDS might never happen but that's just because it's so far away. Anything not including Fedor or out of the UFC guys has been taken care of and addressed, some with mishaps along the way.

This is excluding all the great non superfights that have been put together.

If you're a real fan, you don't see one or two bad things happen in a row and suddenly turn on the entire sport. The UFC is maybe the best run organization in ALL OF SPORTS. Stfu and be glad that you're getting to enjoy such an exciting sport in the prime of it's existance.

Dana White is mostly full of shit and I don't understand why most of the fans still take his word as gospel. The amount of times he's "promised" or "confirmed" future fights only to have him change his mind later on and book some thing else is ridiculous.

I realised he was full of shit after the Bisping/Hendo fiasco. He "promises" the winner a title shot against Anderson. Hendo shuts down Bisping with one of the most iconic KO's in the sport and Dana has a change of heart..... Then Hendo says balls to this and jumps ship to SF. Gotta say, I do love Hendo for that move alone.

Now fans are getting all excited and hyped up over GSP/Silva. Probably won't ever happen.

Is it not possible to be a fan of both? Or be a fan of all combat sports. I personally enjoy watching MMA, Boxing and Kickboxing.

Hold on. I'm pretty sure Dana told Hendo before the fight that he would not get a shot if he won, but Bisping would. If anybody else can confirm, that would be great. Otherwise, I'll assume I imagined it. :)
Maybe I'm now imagining things. I could have sworn it was the winner of the fight being granted a title shot, but maybe it wasn't.

Either way, Dana is still full of shit :D
