Correction. Carlos Condit has held up the division.
My God.....we agree.....

....... :|

Anyway, I'm not a fan of this fight, nor am I fan of JDS/Jones, Jones/Silva, Silva/GSP, or GSP/Bendo

This isn't Pacquiao/Mayweather where they're both in the same weight class, this is asking a guy whose fought at 170 lbs for years to fight a guy who has fought at 205 not THAT long ago and a guy who was flirting with the idea of fighting at Heavyweight. It's not something that interests me, if we're talking Aldo/Cruz where they're only apart by ten pounds or so I could go for that but fights like this? No.

Let Anderson fight Weidman/Boestch, Belcher, and Bisping and let GSP fight Condit and if he beats Condit, he's got Hendricks or Kampmann and of course Nick Diaz out there someday...

And of course, no one's gonna call Anderson a ***** for not fighting Jones, but they will call GSP one for refusing to fight Anderson, even though Jones/Anderson is a much more realistic fight.

silva - most title defenses in the history of the UFC.

jones - fought 4 times last year, 1 for contention, 1 for the title, and 2 defenses.

Not to mention after vitor jones will have defended 4 times in the span of a year.

The last time GSP fought more than twice in a year was in 2005.

Silva also tried to save 151. GSP would have NEVER taken ANY fight on 8 days notice at this point in his career.

Silva also said he would fight weidman... soares was the one that said he wouldnt and we KNOW we cant believe anything that soares said.

The difference between silva-jones and gsp-silva is silva did say he didnt want to fight jones. Gsp has not said he doesnt want to fight silva, he just keeps making excuses of why he cant - "If i move to 185 i want to stay there" "there is still challengers in my division" ect, ect, NOW anderson says he will fight at a catch weight where GSP wont have to stay at and can return to cleaning up his division and gsp is still refusing... Come on now. None of that would matter if he just said "i do not want to fight silva"

EDIT : And it's even worse that you guys are acting like hendricks or kampmann or even diaz have anything more than a freak chance in beating gsp. Condit fight could surely be interesting and i would say he has the best chance out of any of those 4... but any of the other 3 is just dreamy.

And its not that Silva-Jones isnt a good fight, or a fairer fight, because, it actually IS a much better fight. It's that GSP has been champion since 07/was before losing to serra and silva has been champion since 06. The GSP-Silva fight has simply been talked about longer and is more well deserved then Jones/Silva.

I am saying this all unbiasedly. I am only presenting the facts (other than saying gsp would never have taken a fight on 8 days.. but i think we all can pretty much agree on that)

Dominick Cruz | Jose Aldo | Donald Cerrone | Vitor Belfort | Fedor | Daniel Cormier

What?

Silva has been at middleweight and has been champion for 6 years. He's fought at LHW twice. Are you talking about someone else?

Sooo, you agree with me then that Silva has been fighting at LHW and GSP has not been fighting at MW. What are we fighting about?

I'm not surprised, TBH. If it happens, yay! If it doesn't, life goes on.

It is different because Bones himself has also said he doesn't want to fight Anderson. So neither guy is looking for that fight...

How can you say Silva fans cannot talk? When Silva has fought at 168-205 3 different weight classes. Where as GSP has never moved any weight for one single fight? How can you say this when Silva isn't in his prime like GSP, he is almost 38 years old? How can you compare the 2 when one guy has been the best in the world at 2 different weights and the other guy has never stepped outside of 170?

You are more of a fanboy/bias fan because you are canadian. I am not brazilian. I may be a fan but countrymen bias isn;t clouding my judgement...

I agree with you on the Condit statement.

Agree with this big time. I would love a Silva/Bones fight as a Silva fan. That would be amazing. And I can freely admit that I think Bones would win (can't stand bones). He would take him down and beat on him with elbows. I can admit that. But neither guy wants that fight.

The GSP/Silva fight, Anderson wants and GSP has never been apposed to down the line. That fight is so big because these are the 2 best of all time. #1 and #2. 2 guys that have been separated by 1 weight class and atop of the UFC their whole UFC careers. It is that fact that makes this fight the #1 fight.

Anderson fans want the fight, they are confident he will win.

GSP fans don't want it. They go as far to say they don't see the appeal of the fight. Instead of admitting GSP would lose, they are quick to point a finger at Anderson for not moving weight (which at least he has, GSP has never done it once). They look for someone else to blame. They don't want the fight because they know GSP would get handled and can't accept that fact...

I thought you were implying that Silva WAS a LHW. Silva fought at LHW to test himself and see where he stands, something GSP has yet to do in his career.

I'd like to see this fight too but its kind of weak for Andy to push for this fight while GSP is still rehabbing the worst injury of his career.
He's challenging a smaller, currently injured fighter.
I love the spider. Actually, I ******* love that dude, but its still kind of weak in my opinion.
