Urijah Faber Wants Either Himself Or Chad Mendes To Fight Frankie Edgar

Some people were recently talking about a match up with Mendes. I think Edgar wins easy but it seems like a fun fight.

Uriah is eager to wear UFC gold of any kind. I don't think it should be for a belt but I think that would be the best choice for a replacement fight as of right now.

What do you think?

I'd say Faber vs Edgar would be the better choice. I think Faber is a much better opponent than Mendes. And Mendes isn't big enough of a name to headline a card in Brazil in a non-title bout.

Anderson Silva
Aldo - Dos Anjos - Mayday - Weidman - Machida - Jones

If Faber gets another title shot from this I swear i will lose so much respect for the UFC...why is UFC turning into such a joke?!?!
Seriously though, he's lost his last FIVE title shots in a row and is coming off a loss. Why does Dana White even consider giving him an interim shot at a higher weight class in which the champion has already dismantled him anyways? What is Dana thinking these days? I know Faber is a "name" but this is supposed to be a sport, not a soap opera...

Slow down there big fella!

Who said there would be an interim title? There won't be.

Faber/Edgar is a good replacement fight considering what is possible.

Do you watch his fights? He always looks impressive when he's not fighting for the belt and it's not like the divisions he fights in are lined up with contenders. It's also notable that he hasn't been finished in 4 of those 5 title shots. Faber isn't just a name. He actually has skills.

I think Mendes would actually be the bigger challenge since he can at least compete in wrestling with Edgar and maybe even win in that area. Faber would get thoroughly tooled everywhere
