Who will the UFC send over??
As most probably know Mir is injured and out of Cormier fight. So who will the UFC send over now?. I really hope this doesnt delay Cormier any longer.

Well the five likeliest options are
Fabricio Werdum close to Cormier in the rankings and a win puts him next in line for a title shot. Cheick Kongo 4-1-1 in his last five, Kongo is a UFC gatekeeper and likely working as a training partner for the UK show. Mirko Cro-Cop CC is always game, if he's healthy he'll main event. Andre Arlovski Arlovksi is basically on a three fight win streak the UFC is all about giving guys second chances. Gabriel Gonzaga fighting on the brazil prelims he's trained and he's big enough of a name that he could come in as a replacement. |
It's a shame they cant send over Big Roy Nelson.

would be cool if they could pull some strings and get Cole Konrad,
If Big Nog wasn't fighting at Rio then he'd be a great choice. Aside from that, Travis Browne and Mark Hunt are the only guys that really deserve it. |
I would love to see Hunt against Cormier. Hunt is a big enough name and can be built up as a dangerous striker against Cormier. What I think is, Hunt would most probably never get a title shot in the UFC, so why not put him up against Cormier so he has a chance for Strikeforce gold?

I hope Dana pulls it off and get's Fedor out of retirement for this fight. A huge long shot but never say never.

Cormier is a stylistic nightmare for Mark Hunt. Don't ruin Hunts hype by feeding him to a world class grappler, just keep giving Hunt strikers and average grapplers so he can keep taking heads off. Leave the big guy alone.
Werdum vs Cormier makes the most sense to me. Very intriguing fight. |
