what?
no way! what the hell does Bonnar have to lose? if he even lands a good punch on Anderson he will have won the odds.
Goddamnit! ******* double post.

They should do Bisping vs Silva. Been waiting for that fight for some time now. Bisping is well rounded and might be able to use his grappling ability against Silva, heck he was using it at times to push Sonnen around. His striking is decent as well although not on the same level as Silva's.
It would also be a pretty big fight as both Silva and Bisping are well known and followed fighters.
Then the winner of Weidman vs Boetsch could have the next shot depending on how that fight goes.

and it will mean nothing, because anderson will still walk away with the title for some reason.
This seems so strange to me -- they are fighting in Brazil, and Anderson can't 'lose', in the sense that his title isn't on the line.
When is the last time a UFC champion fought, but it wasn't for the title (not because of somebody missing weight)? Just out of curiousity.
This whole card just reeks of brazilian favouritism when I look at the match ups.

why is getting to watch the most awesome MMA fighter ever something bad? Anderson stepped up for this card when Aldo got injured. He didn't even plan on fighting anymore this year.

discuss it in one of the threads about Bonnar/Silva as this is old news.
I say if Anderson is wanting to fight early next year then put in Bisping, if not weidman/bisping is a logical match up.
Is Belcher injured? Either way, I think he is a fight or 2 away from a shot as well.

Weidman is no doubt talented, but I have an extremely hard time seeing how a rookie comes into the UFC and wins a couple of decent fights then earns the right. Lyoto, JDS, GSP, and many more all had to work their way up. Some were already champions in other organizations such as Shogun or Diaz so that carries a lot of weight. What titles does Weidman have besides an endorsement from Matt Serra.
Bisping on the other hand has been TOILING for six years as a company man. Granted he came close on several occasions, but each time working his way up. He gets it...sure he may not be the most competitive, but the buildup, PPVs, and actual fight will be entertaining.
If Weidman beats Boetch then he can get his shot next although Belcher vs Anderson is far more entertaining because it'll be a striking match. We already know Weidman is going for the take down and guillotine. That's all he does.
Nobody else deserves it. GSP super fight supercedes all those matchups though.

Ohhhh - Anderson "stepped up" to fight Bonnar on short notice. You say that like he's the savior of the card or something.
As much as I've enjoyed watching Bonnar, and he's put on some very memorable fights, he's getting to the "washed up" phase of his carrer. Maybe that wording is a bit harsh -- but I don't need to even look at the betting lines and my guess is that Anderson is a 15 to 20 to 1 favourite.
This is the biggest mis-matched main event since Couture / Toney. It's not even going to be a fight, and anyone who actually believes that Bonnar has a punchers chance is out of their god-damn mind. There's no polite way to say it.

He's not the only choice, but its him or Weidman. Weidman is 23 And has the beat shot at dethroning Silva. Bisping is 33 has worked hia ass off in the UFC for the best part of a decade. I know sentiment shouldn't come into it but he deserves this right now.

Take this discussion to one of the Bonnar/Silva threads. I won't ask again.
