One of my concerns about a Weidman/Bisping fight is that it also pushes the division back for 6 more months.

They should look to have Silva fight Bisping in January, the winner of Weidman/Boetsch in July and then again at the end of the year.

I'm becoming more and more of a Bisping fan but he needs at least one top 10 win to earn that title shot in my opinion. Same goes for anybody actually.

Oh come on, seriously. What is Bisping gonna do to Anderson Silva?
He might deserve a fight after 101 decision, but he'll still get schooled like a little kid once he steps in there with that man. I want to see Anderson fight somebody who can challenge him. Make it exciting, and thats not Bisping. He's not going to get a decision over Anderson. He sure as hell wont knock him out with one shot. He wont get him down. He'll stand there and get punched in the face whenever Anderson Silva feels like punching him in the face

Bones, GSP, Lyoto, Shogun, Diaz or Weidman.

These guys would all give him more of a challenge. Now i know Lyoto wont do it, but it would be fun. Bones might be to big and would most likely GnP him to death. Shogun is always exciting. Diaz will bring it, and we'll finally see how good his hands and chin really are. Weidman is a stud and the one i belive will give him the thoughest challenge at 185, but still to unknown for the casual fan. And then there's GSP. He might be to small but he is the best MMA tactician in the sport, he's a freak athlete, strong as hell. Got excellent wrestling and the same invincible aura as Anderson has. I want to see it.
But Bisping? Ugh, it just wont be an exciting fight.

Unfortunately only one of those is a Middleweight.

Gotta agree. I do not think Stann is a top-10 MW. Bisping has basically been given what may have been considered title eliminator fights 4 times in his career (Evans, Henderson, W. Silva & Sonnen), and he's lost all 4 of them. If he can't beat those guys when he fought them, I don't see how he deserves a title fight, other than the fact that the UFC is running out of new match ups for AS at this point.

The AS / Bonnar fight kind of proves that point.

Agreed.

I can't stand the fans to continue to push for top level fighters to switch weight classes.

This isn't boxing where there's like 20 weight clsses, each separated by 3-5 pounds. Switching weight classes is a much bigger undertaking in MMA. I think the fact that so many fans are pushing for the likes of GSP to fight Silva, or Silva to fight JBJ just shows how truely shallow the talent-pool is at the top level of the sport. Bones has been around for what -- 5 years? He's already run out of opponents - I don't see him losing his belt for at least 5 years, probably closer to 10. GSP and Silva have been around for a bit longer, but they too are well above the competetion in their classes.

The talent is spread so thin at the championship level - title fights have become less and less interesting as the talent gap between #1 and #2-#5 is so big. It's become more interesting to watch the "middle of the pack" as opposed to title fights.

I say if Anderson is wanting to fight early next year then put in Bisping, if not weidman/bisping is a logical match up.

Is Belcher injured? Either way, I think he is a fight or 2 away from a shot as well.
Belcher is fighting Okami who he already lost to on the same card as Weidman/Boesch, I also don't really like that fight for Belcher either.

Dana should just change it to Bisping vs Weidman for the number one contender's bout. Boetsch is awful. Have him fight Costa Philippou and I guarantee he loses.

Why boetcsh is the one who has the wins and should actually be getting the shot. Is bisping better yes but that spot was not gifted to Tim he earned it in the cage.

Bisping failed to make a statement last night that puts him at the front of the line.
