Honest question why have UFC fans not taken to
to the newly crowned chanpions in recent months? I am talking about
Jon Jones
Ben Henderson
and now Johnson
All newly crowned Champions that were met with a mixed reception from so called mma fans. Ppl labeled both DJ/mcall as "awesome wars" until the results were read, then it became a miscarriage of justice? Both henderson's wins over edgar were met with a groans/hiss from fans. Many wont even acknowledge hes champion. Now we have a flyweight fight that was the typical below lw type fight. There was nothing in saturdays fight that was dissimilar to cruz/faber fight.Yet mma fans were gushing over the later and booing the former? why is that..Has jones ever had a painstakingly boring fight? like ever? yet this guy is starving for cheers?
What is it about these new school of champions that suddenly has mma fans up in arms and handing in their UFC viewership

While I do enjoy his fights - Jones has drawn a lot of negative attention to himself lately, starting with his DUI and ending with the cancellation of UFC 151 (Not saying he's solely to blame, but he was a part of the whole deal)
Hendo, btw I'm a big fan of his, people seem to dislike and the resentment is slightly misplaced in my view. He won the first fight with Edgar pretty convinsingly IMO, and the second fight was very, very close. People seem to dislike him because there's an argument that he lost the second fight, but they forget that the judges score the fights, not the fighters themselves, hence the misplaced recentment.
As for Mighty Mouse, who hasn't taken to him? I know some people didn't enjoy last night's fight and some did (Me included) - but I still think he's well liked by most MMA-fans.

For me - JBJ is a smug, cocky, prick of a human being. I've stopped watching any and all interviews with him, because I want to smash him in the face with a hammer every time he opens his mouth.
As for the other 2, I didn't realize they were getting a lot of hate. I think it probably has more to do with the fact that a lot of people aren't interested in the 125-145 divisons.

I like Jon Jones.
I hate Ben Henderson.
And I'm indifferent to Mighty Mouse, I like his fights but I'm not a fan or anything, but guess what, I do like JOHN DODSON, HE'S BLACK!!!!

Johnson - I get the impression those who dislike him wouldn't have liked Benavidez either, some people hate the division.
Henderson- A) Comes off a little preachy with the religous thing. B) his whole swager manerisms come off kinda cocky. C) People don't think he beat Frankie Edgar or loved Frankie Edgar.
Jones- The guys is a god damn cheat code for MMA. Come on be honest the first guy you made when got Undisputed for Xbox was Jon Jones, he likely wasn't named Jon Jones and he didn't look like Jones hell he may not have even been a LHW but it was Jones. You made a tall guys with absurd reach and gave him a strong wrestling base. After that you gave him a bunch of real nasty super moves like spinning back fists and elbows, superman punches and sidekicks. Nasty GNP, good ground game. You know why Superman isn't as popular as the Avengers,X-Men, Batman or Spiderman? Vulnerabilities and adversity. Jones is Superman he seems to have every freaking super power.

I don't necessarily "dislike" Jones, but if I had a list of top fighters that I would love to see KO'd, he would be right at the top of the list - for the whole UFC 151 situation.
Ben lost to Edgar, Edgar was robbed, not Ben's fault therefore I don't "dislike" Ben either, but I call a spade a spade and Ben should have lost that fight.
As for Mighty Mouse, I'm completely indifferent, I honestly couldn't care less about him or his division.

For me the DUI was a huge piss-off.
The UFC tried to sell him as some angel, god-boy when he stopped a thief before his UFC 128 fight (there's actual video segment on UFC.ca called "Jon Jones: To Catch a Thief").
Where's the video segement called "Jon Jones: How to get a DUI"?
Of course I wouldn't expect anything more from the UFC than to hype their champion up the first chance they get, and bury any negative press about him.
I don't care about the cancellation of UFC 151, but I'm sure the people who thought they were going to see a UFC event were pissed. I personally can't blame a fighter for not accepting a fight on short notice. Great if they do, but to hate on him for it isn't right to me.
I just don't like him cause I think he's a cocky douche.

GSP is just as unpopular with some people as any of them so don't feed Kreed the answer I am sure he was looking for. Tread carefully folks.
Its not skin tone, Joseph Benavidez was no more popular going into the flywieght fight than MightyMouse.
Rampage and Rashad have both been more popular at LHW. Jones still does have the whole 151 cloud hanging over him right now which doesn't help either. But its largely his dominance and the fact he has been crushing everyone's favorites.
Ben Henderson is religious and talks about god you know who else everyone hated for doing that? Matt Hughes. Ben Henderson is the urban Matt Hughes kinda arrogant and religious which comes off self righteous. Or maybe Hughes is the redneck Ben Henderson who knows but they are disliked for similar reasons.
Lastly Anderson Silva.
