Big surprise! An oxy head who lives in Hawaii can't quite get his finances in order? Poor baby, life is hard when you live in one of the most beautiful, pristine and EXPENSIVE places on the planet... He needs to quit injecting and snorting all his cash. I have zero sympathy for addicts. I do love watching the dummy fight though, so hopefully we'll see him back soon so he can support his beach druggy lifestyle he bemoans so much....

Pretty much this. Leben is the man when he's fighting but how am I supposed to listen to a dude moaning about his money when he's an addict?

Thanks to Ape for the sig.

Yeah he probably spends his money poorly, but I don't think you realize how hard it would be being a professional athlete. Think of the job you had, think if you had to always be paying people to train you, paying for airline tickets, paying for healthcare, supplements, equipment, hotels etc. etc.

Sure Leben was an idiot with his money, but he probably wasn't as bad as most basketball players who piss it all away on luxury items. The cost of training for mma plus taxes would make it tough to live the lifestyle of a professional athlete with the money they make. It costs a lot to do everything involved with training.

It's not THAT much expenses. Sure they have to pay a bit but they more than make up for it. I believe Dana when he said something like Koscheck is driving around in two Bentleys.

In reality though its a v small amount of money not even depending on where you live.

First deduct taxes, second deduct rent. In NYC...
Lol. There's your problem.

Have fun on the hamster wheel.

And I'm the naive one.

If he had made more he would have just spent more.

However, I agree with all the posts stating UFC fighters are way underpaid. With the exception of the top contenders these guys make chump change compared to most professional athletes. Meanwhile the PPV price keeps raising while fight cards get weaker.
