What's scary about Jones is that while he has flaws in his game now, can you imagine him in three-four years down the road? Yeah Jones has sloppy striking and his jiu-jitsu is questionable, but in three to four years he will virtually have no flaws. He will literally be more unstoppable than he is now.

There's no shame in admitting that Anderson Silva has sub-par take down defence. He more than makes up for it with a great submission game. To act as though Chael Sonnen is the only man to take Anderson down and control him from the top is inaccurate. Henderson, Lutter, and to a lesser extent, Okami all managed the same. People who work to take Anderson down are likely to be successful. Whether or not they get submitted is another story.
And to whoever still thinks Machida won a round, only 1 judge agrees, while 2 thought Bones won, so BONES WON THE ROUND!!![IMG]
I don't see how it's important that Jones lost the 1st round. Machida still got taken down, dropped, cut open + bloodied and choked out the following round. Not to mention it's pretty impressive Jones was able to stand with him and hold on his own. Machida is one of the best strikers in the division after all.

Yeah. He is almost unbeatable in the stand up game, his wrestling is great, he has killer ground and pound and good ground control, he has a few submissions up his sleeve...his only weakness, his sub defence, has beene xposed and he's not working to patch it up. Some training with a high level BJJ coach and he literally has no flaws.

If anything, it shows the opposite to a weakness. Jones now has Machida's style figured out. Machida will have to fight differently if they are to clash again because although it took Jones a round to figure him out, he did so and still has it down.

I actually REwatched Jones vs Machida in order to prove that Jones did not lose the round as everyone is saying he did.
And i have to say...
Machida EASILY won that round. I tried to be bias and give Jons more credit for the stuff he did but as i was sitting there i just realized "Dude Machida won this round any way i look at it. Just stop".
Machida won the battle standing. Then his opponent adapted in the second round and changed the course of the fight instantly.
I don't see how Machida "won" the stand up battle when it was Machida who got dropped in the 2nd THEN subbed.
Anyways of course he has wholes in his game. But they aren't huge. No way they can be huge glaring holes in the game of someone whos never lost a round ( what the judges say counts, no our opinions) and only been in trouble once. A glaring hole is like BJs tank or Struves inability to avoid getting punched in the face or Shaubs chin.

Vitor threw a curveball in there when he showed everyone that he's actually a BJJ blackbelt though.
No offense, but you are one of the few people that got surprised by that "curveball". I mean, not only does he have a bjj blackbelt, he has had that belt since the end of 1990's. I can't believe you are surprised that someone that was given his belt by Carson Gracie over a decade ago is "actually a bjj blackelt". Hell, he even has a bronze medal from ADCC. >.<
