To be fair, Lombards record only looked great on paper and when you really take a look at it, you only see good numbers and nothing else. I can see where you're coming from though.

Yeah Cormier isn't anything like Lombard. If he joined the UFC as a nobody now, he'd definently work his way up to earn a title shot. But at the same time I think he would have some bumps along the road because he doesn't seem quite as dominant as is being put across. Had he not lost in the first round, I'd have seen Fedor knocking him out.

You pretty much described Cain aswell, haha.

But as for this fight I don't really like it, Barry just got his brains beat in by Lavar Johnson, now he's gonna fight Cormier?

I guess this is just a sign of how bad things are in SF.

What do you expect from an org with only 1 HW left under their contract.

Just end Strikeforce now for crying out loud, its been dead since Overeem and Diaz left anyway. Theres barely a handful of fighters in each division and all the fights have been done.

Not entirely sure they can do that just like that. I'm not entirely sure but i think the fighters have to respect their contracts and then they can move over..

Actually didn't think about the financial aspects. He's been training so why not find a replacement. Mark Hunt will take it...or maybe Struve.

Not too excited for this. Pat Barry could be a +50000 and I still wouldn't bet a cent on him. But Barry is smart for taking the fight. Considering he's mediocre (but fun to watch), being a company man among other things will get him on Dana's side and will ensure he's kept around.
