A lot of common prescription drugs are prohibited not because they're performance enhancers in themselves, but for masking effects.

Did anyone bother checking whether Xanax really is prohibited though?

I did a quick search on Alprazolam and WADA and all I came up with is that it's an allowed substance.

edit: Just took a look at the WADA prohibited list from 2012 and there are no anxiolytics on there. So yeah, he might have tested positive but it doesn't really matter because it's not banned.

The SAC's use a different banned substance list than WADA.

Let's hope he doesn't go the way of Mayhem. Seems pretty off lately, even for him. Just don't think I'd be surprised to see a thread titled "Forest arrested for firing rifle repeatedly while naked in Walmart parking lot".

I don't think this should be a suprise... Forrest went on and on about how he was on "LUDES" to help him stay calm for the fight.

Sure, but I would think they're less careful than WADA so there'd be fewer banned substances.

These banned substances lists aren't easy to find (= are not on the first page of a google search). I found a list of the NSAC but I'm not sure it's the real thing because according to the list you're not allowed to use salt water to clear your nose. That's gonna be hard to prove...

I wonder what he's talking about. The UFC can't withhold anything like that. In fact, they have no part in the drug testing.

Maybe Forrest meant to say that his coaches tested him on which substances are prohibited, and he failed the test.
