This is just the unfortunate reality of mma gloves. It sucks, and to use it as a weapon in competition is a dick move; but as HEX said, the refs need to be on it.

Gilbert Yvel would have to be the worst abuser of this. He was dq'd for it when he poked Don Frye's eyeballs multiple times with several warnings in Pride if I'm not mistaken.

Koscheck is notorious for that. It's a dirty tactic.
Agree 100%. Jones was warned by Big John against Vitor, if I remember well.

The Jon Jones' hate is getting ridiculous. Make something illegal because of JJ

It is not just about Jon Jones. Josh Koscheck used to use this strategy as well. It is annoying counter that discourages opponents from leaping inside.

Jones used it when running backwards vs Machida.

Josh Koscheck, another fighter with crazy hate. Sometimes I think people don't see something until someone they dislike does it. Surprised no mentioned Faber.

Kos gets warned repeatedly for extending his lead hand forward in a pawing manner with the palm of his hand turned down and fingers extended forward. And also for poking opponents in the eye. He gets warned multiple times in each fight. He has eye-poked the last two or three opponents and has been doing it in many more fights than that.

At some point, they need to stop giving multiple warnings to guys like Kos & start deducting points.

Goggles can be helpful. I think many eye pokes are intentional.
