I love both guys and don't want either of the to lose. That being said I'm freaking pumped for this event and the main event in particular!

I clearly see Anderson take it, question is - will Bonnar last longer than Forrest? I think yes, and I think he will make a fight of it

If Stephan instantly tries to grapple, and still gets smashed, it will hurt his legacy a lot. This fight here is for him to lose like a warrior. If he comes forward, takes a truck load of punishment and fights through a bloodied face to stand toe to toe with Anderson, he will go down as a legend. This isn't a fight for gameplans, it's a fight that has to be turned into a war where Anderson might get caught.

I'm sure everyone is rooting for Bonnar. If he wins, I hope he retires. If he loses, I hope he gets to run the next TUF with Forrest.

Why would it hurt his legacy? Because he tried to actually win the fight instead of being used for target practice by a superior striker? Makes no sense to me.

Was not excited about this at first. But as t gets closer I am warming up to it. Just the what-ifs from Bonnar gets me gitty as a school girl! We all know what Anderson can do .....just not how nasty it will be!

It will leave it's legacy where it is. If Bonnar goes right in to tie up, he's have the same standing after the fight as when he went in, and in other words got beat up for nothing. If he tries to grapple so much that he looks like Maia or Leites did, then it will even take away from his legacy. This isn't a fight Bonnar will win by grappling. Someone doubted it earlier but he has a punchers chance and really the only times Silva took some punches, against Sonnen, he didnt take them all that great. If Bonnar walks through everything Silva has, proves his toughness and grit, that replaced a lack of HOF worthy skills or results and might just make him a real legend of the spot. This is his chance to cheat the system and if he tries to grapple his way through it, he's going to retire as "That guy who had a dope fight with Forrest".

I think he's only been punched like 3 times in his entire UFC career, all of which being from Sonnen and he got pretty hurt by them.

I had this conversation about Mayweather before. Not ever being hurt doesnt prove you have a good chin if you've never been hit. It's not a negative because you're defence is at a point which nullifies your chin being relevent, but the only times we seen Anderson take a punch he felt them.

Have you ever fought a fight in real life? Even sparring?

Yes he got hit but look how he coped with them. Other fighters would have gone down for good. Just shows how good Silva's chin really is!

Also, I got some news for you buddy, Silva won against Sonnen TWICE. Sonnen gave it his all and Silva took it all and showed that he is probably better than anyone at anything. Even taking punches.

Of course he can win the fight with grappling. All he has to do is stay on top for two rounds and not get finished.

And Maia didn't go for takedowns, he repeatedly tried to pull guard. There's a significant difference.

Your entire argument here seems flawed from the get-go. If he comes in swinging it's almost certain he gets finished violently just like Forrest did. Then he'll be that other guy who was part of a great match up between middling fighters and got Clowned by the greatest. If he gets a hold of a leg he can put Silva on his back, then it's a whole other ballgame.
