>> Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones
Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones would possibly be the greatest 1 on 1 fight in the history (After Goliath vs. David and Ali vs. Foreman of course XD)
Anderson Silva is almost at the end of his fight career .He is a highly dynamic fighter fuelled by his mastery of different martial art techniques. Jon Jones has around another 10 years in the game, a solid fighter, younger but not with the experience of Silva.
I really think both fighters should get this fight on. I can only imagine what a great fight this would be.
Silva would probably play evasive and exhaust Jones until round 4/5 and then choke him. On the other hand, Jones could use his power and extra reach to go for KO.
I really think that Silva should NOT be fighting low grade fighters at this late stage of his career like Bonnar. Dana White should set up the legendary contest between silva and jones.
As a compromise, the fight could be made an 'EXHIBITION FIGHT' to possibly deal with career concerns.
What do you think?

Really? Jones has shown more than decent cardio in his fights so far. He has gone past the 3rd round thrice now and he hasn't shown terrible cardio issues.
And Jones standing with Silva...? He has looked good standing against the likes of Rampage, Shogun, and Vitor, I'd give you that. However, against Silva? Even with his longer reach I think Jones would not contemplate striking with Anderson freakin' Silva. He does not really have the power to knockout iron-jawed Silva, and striking with Silva for 25minutes is insane. The only way Jones is going to win is taking Silva to the GnPing to a victory, yet Silva is no slouch of his back either.
All these talk is useless though. Dana won't be able to force Silva to move up a weight class and fight the light heavyweight champion, and Silva has stated explicitly he wants to stay at middleweight. Furthermore, why would Dana put Silva vs Jones as an exhibition match... ? If the fight is going to happen the UFC is going to squeeze dry the money potential in that fight.

I'm a weird kind of fan. I don't want the fight either. I personally want Hendo vs Jones and Weidman vs Silva more then I want Silva vs Jones/GSP.

Why couldn't they make money out of a exhibition fight? I bet more people would come to see this just because of the contenders instead of a hunk of metal

Personally I think your fight breakdown is pretty bad. What are the odds Jones KO's Anderson when Anderson has never been KO'd and Jones hasn't really shown us KO power? He has shown the ability to get a TKO by a series of strikes but that isn't really the same as KO power.
You also fail to mention any wrestling, which would be one clear advantage Jones has and probably Anderson weakest area. I'm sure Jones would attempt throws and take downs pretty often if they ever fought.

Well, I wasn't aiming for a complex fight breakdown initially so I think it's wrong to complain about that.
Having said that, the reason I say KO is that I think a -lucky- punch when Andersons guard is relaxed could be an exploitation that Jones would probably figure out (as is the case with almost EVERY fight). Just because Jones hasn't shown KO power doesn't mean he doesn't have it so it's your opinion is as speculative as mine.
On the topic of ground fight they both have long slender limbs so technique and experience will be a key factor here which I would give to Anderson. BUT, Jones can pull amazing escapes like the arm-bar with Vitor. Anderson's ground control is excellent, one of the best, he waits for an opportunity and can exploit it. If Jones makes 1 mistake on the ground then Silva will win. Otherwise it's pretty even.
This is what makes this fight extremely interesting, the match up is great.

I wasn't the one that brought up poor 1st post. But I did agree. I was just pointing out 1 reason why I didn't think it was a good post. Also I don't get how you can predict that Jones will find a way to time a "lucky punch", If he specifically sets up the strike then how is it "lucky"?
I also disagree that Anderson's technique had much to do with getting out of the armbar. I'm part of the camp that believes Vitor let up(his words).

Why would Anderson fight a dude who could easily make HW, in a weight class above him, who is more than 10 years younger than him, who is in his prime?
Anderson is ALREADY the greatest, he doesnt need to prove it more.
All the same, the fight would be insane, but as an Anderson fan I dont think he needs it and shouldnt take it.
