You know in my books as long as you put in the work you get credit. Doesn't mean people have to like you, but they can respect you to a degree.
Roy although never the biggest fan is really a character on his own. How many fat people like that do you know who have skills. It's a paradox.

I think that's a big part of the hate.
Watching him fight gives some guys nasty Vietnam-style flashbacks of fat bullies stuffing them in lockers and stealing their milk money.
He's also one of the few fighters that the average skinny pasty dork can convince themselves they are better than somehow.

You're all just jealous because Roy seemingly doesn't need to put in a lot of work to be as good as he is.

I'm sure he works really hard, it's his physique that he doesn't care about much.

Arn't fat ppl normally the ones getting bullied?
maybe it's different depending on where you grow up but I've never seen a guy that looks like Roy on the right side of bullying.
BTW bullying is wrong and I don't agree with it, I'm just pointing it out.
To me bullies usually look more like Carwin.

There are many breeds of fat person. The Roy Nelson category are at the top of the pile. Ive known a few Nelsons in my time. Huge fat feckers with gorilla strength and absurd pain tolerance.
The fundamental difference is that most fat people are not 6 foot. When you come face to face with a tall fat person, it's quite scary.

I see well I have seen a few scarylooking fatboys ofc but I mean with the mullet, and the whole look...Nelson just doesn't strike me as intimidating.
He looks like someones nice fat redneck uncle.
Carwin on the other hand, he's one of few MMA-fighters who looks as scary as he is.

Typical Nelson. Contradictory and arrogant. Never been able to comprehend why he's got such a following. That said, if Carwin wasn't in THAT camp I would find myself rooting for him. Don't really care about this match up.
