You're telling me I don't get to see an exciting Shields fight for at least 6 months!? What a bummer.
But in all seriousness, I don't mind. I'm gonna go on a stretch here and say that he is the most boring fighter on the roster. If anyone can think of a more boring fighter, let me know.

Don't think it was a PED, Sonnen and Overeem both got a year, Feijao got a year, everyone who gets popped for PED's or over doing their TRT always gets a year.
It was probably pot, he was moving up in weight so I'd be surprised if it was something to help the weight come off.

Shields isn't the most exciting fighter in the UFC, but I don't consider him that boring either. He grapples intelligently, which is something I always like watching because I feel I learn from it, even if all I'm getting is tools with which to evaluate other grappling performances. To me he's a much more interesting fighter than guys like Chris Leben, who can hit hard and take a punch, but show you little to learn from. |
