Personally, I think Belcher would beat Weidman.

It's usually the same 3 people... Started by Lyoto Legion 9/10 times due to his pure hatred for Anderson Silva. You would think Silva raped his dog and beat his cat while crapping on his carpet or something

If Weidman can get past Vitor or Bisping then he deserves it. For now I don't think he would beat either of them.

Is it true he turned down a fight with Alan the Talent?

Quote:
“His [Weidman's] response was that he’s still hoping and waiting for a fight with Anderson Silva, but the UFC still has not said if he will fight him. If he can’t fight Anderson Silva, he said he would like to fight with a number-one contender fighter, but he believes that Alan Belcher isn’t that fighter given where he’s ranked. So what he proposed is fighting the winner of the Bisping vs. Stann fight, for a number-one contender spot.”

So if Anderson is ducking Weidman, Weidman is ducking Belcher.

Belcher has more weapons and more diversity in his game, Weidman would lose to Belcher. So I can see why Weidman wouldn't want to fight him so his slight overhype won't be lost yet.

Why are people so set on giving Weidman a title shot? He only has 9 fights. His most impressive win is a submission over Tom Lawlor. His win over Maia was sloppy(I don't blame him at all for that but that's the truth), he beat a fat Mark Munoz, Alessio Sakara and some guy named Jesse Bongfeldt.

I recognize that he's a very good fighter, but he hasn't established his name yet. No casual fan has ever heard of him and the PPV wouldn't sell well. Let him beat someone like Belcher, Bisping etc THEN we can talk about title shots. No need to rush it.

Plus, Weidman is turning down fights too so he's no different.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

"I'm an oldie, I'm not a fool" What exactly does he mean by that? It sounds to me like he might be worried about his age against a young guy like Weidman, I don't think Silva is afraid of him, I don't think any cage fighter is afraid of anyone, but statements like that kind of raise flags. It seems like he's nearing the end one week then the next week he'll come out and say "I wanna fight for five/six more years"

Who exactly are Bisping's notable wins? Stann, that's it and in Weidman's win over Munoz he looked far more impressive than Bisping did against Stann.

And Weidman didn't just win against Munoz, he absolutely demolished him, I don't know if people just didn't see it because it was on FUELTV or what but Weidman absolutely handled Munoz in every sense of the word and then finished him in brutal fashion. Fat Munoz or Munoz on his best day, Weidman's career, except the time he cut 32 lbs in 11 days has been consistent, and he's handled everyone on the ground.
Silva is not afraid of Wiedman. what it means most likely is that he genuinely thinks Wiedman does not deserve a shot because AS will make him look like a fool and toy with him. See what he did to maia, forrest, Bonnar, he probably is sick of having to do this and probably is saying he only has two fights left on his contract and wants them to be big. This is why he is not interested in Weidman and wants to fight GSP. Two fights left on his contract GSP being one and the other one also probably another big draw is what he wants and is stating. But Anderson afraid of Weidman is laughable.

I don't even get the hype around CW? In all honestly I say Silva would murder him as I don't see him finishing Silva at all. You can say he can take him to a decision with his wrestling....but 16 dudes have tried , and at the end of the day Silva is on a next level. We should be asking Silva to fight guys like GSP/Jones/Hws...no damn Chris Weidman.
so pretty much turn down any fight that would risk you losing your title before you retire? BS

There's a lot of people who want a shot at me, and might be more deserving than you, so chill out

I don't have any intention of fighting with him (Wiedman). I still think he has a lot to do in the UFC
He hasn't done enough to earn a shot at me.

I am in a comfortable position and I am no longer a child, I am 37 years old, he's a kid that is starting
I'm his senior and I don't really think much of his accomplishments so far.

Obviously, this might happen, but, I have two fights on my contract and I think one of them will be with St. Pierre and I don't really have an intention in fighting with him (Weidman) because I'm not a fool. I'm already an oldie, you know?"
I only have a few fights left in my career and I'm not going to pass up a monumental payday to fight a guy who's best win is Mark Munoz.
what exactly did anderson do in the division before he got his shot and became what we know today?
