Although I agree that Jones would probably beat Gustafsson soundly I don't see Shogun doing it. Gus will survive Shoguns early berserk and then beat him up when Shogun's cardio fails...

Does he deserve it? No. But it does give the top of the LHW division some time to figure itself out. Plus a season of TUF with Sonnen? Sign me up.
I want to hate the UFC & DW for making this, but the more I think about it the more I put the facts aside and think this is going to be a ride of ridiculous proportions, I just need to get more popcorn.

Is it the fight I want to see, well honestly it could be slightly interesting considering Chael may be a better wrestler but to be honest I give him little chance but its the build up I want to see and Chael will give it his all. Honestly there is not a Jon Jones fight at LHW I really want to see, there is a super fight with Anderson Silva or move up because Jones is on another level than anyone in the division right now. Out of Chael,Gust, Davis, Hendo, Shogun and Machida, Sonnen is probably the fight I find most interesting but that isn't saying much.

Dana White lied about this "fans wanted it" !
Didn't the fans years ago wanted a Fedor fight? Why didn't he make that happen? Why he made this lamer take a title shot after loosing twice in a blink of an eye?
DW didn't hesitate to make this fight happen for his sake, not others.
Also: I think JBJ got great cash out of it, or he would have refused "money man". Didn't he make a whole card to be dismissed becoz he refused to take a fight against Chael? Even when he had a long camp and chael came from a lose to the KING of MMA!!!
Strange decision and a bad one too

MMA as a whole would be drastically different if Dana had made that happen, we would have never gotten a tenth of the fights we want to see because every big name fighter would turn into a diva the likes of which mma has never seen. Remember Jones at UFC 151 not wanting to fight Chael? That would have become a regular fact of life as we would have 99 MMA promotions to deal with fighting and clawing. As much as I would have loved to see Fedor in the UFC crosspromoting would have killed MMA the way its killing boxing but MMA has a shorter fall.

Nope, I want the UFC to stay as legit as possible, and this sort of stuff is riddiculous. If Dana white asked me what I wanted for Jones next fight, this would not have been my answer.
I will watch tho, I can't pass up the oppertunity to see Sonnen catch a beatdown.

I think this match was made by fox to save tuf. For that purpose I can't think of a better choice can any of you?
The only other Jones fight I'm interested in is Silva and that wouldn't make a good tuf.

Let's just face it guys. There are no queues or they are there for reference only. We will suffer less when we accept UFC and Dana ways the way it is. It's not a democracy there. There are good and bad points about this flexibility anyway.
No way Sonnen deserves a title shot for his accomplishments as a fighter and even less for his disrespectiful dirty mouth outside of the cage. However, answering the OP, YES, I want to see that fight.
It's interesting to say the least. Either I will be able to see Sonnen get his mouth shut again or to see him given Jones the Anderson approach and I want to see Jones answer for that.
I want to see answer for this puzzle: Sonnen havier, trained, will be able to take Jones down and keep him there? And if so, how will be Jones game from the bottom?
I don't see anybody keeping Sonnen on the bottom, and this is a Jones trademark for his elbows, so I'm curious.
If Jones can keep it standing, no chance for Sonnen...
