Is Jones vs Sonnen the fight you really wanted to see?
Okay, this thread isn't about whether Sonnen deserves a title shot or not. The unfortunate truth is that Sonnen is getting one no matter how much we complain about it.
What I want to cover in this thread is this really the fight we wanted to see? Did you guys wanted to see Jon Jones vs. Chael Sonnen before it was ever brought or were you hoping for someone else like Dan Henderson, Phil Davis, or
Alexander Gustafsson?

I am a big Hendo fan.
I wanted him to get the shot and believe he is the most deserving.
Actually he is easily the most deserving in the 205 division. He had a shot just a couple months ago that no one had a problem with and everyone thought was 100% legit.
Not sure why he loses his shot due to injury. But Reem keeps his shot after getting suspended for roids.
Hendo didn't even decline a fight either. So Dana has no room to talk there.

Seriously, it's ridiculous to punish Dan for getting hurt, the guy tried to gut through it, and go in and fight perhaps the most vicious guy in the sport.
I still want the rematch between Jones and Machida, I think Machida can get him the next time around.

Yes. A poll would be appropriate for this thread.

Where did I get the idea from? From my gut.
Turns out I was right.

Actually, Sideways, turns out you were wrong.

I have no issues with it. Will make for an interesting seasons of TUF and and entertaining fight.
Hendo and Gustafsson are the only ones you could really make an argument for to be in line for a title shot and Gustafsson really needs to defeat 1 or 2 top names to truly earn his spot. Even Hendo imo was being gifted a shot as his fight against Shogun was underwhelming. I think this works out good because once Gustafsson beats Shogun he can fight Hendo for a title shot.

I'd rather see Hendo, Gus, Lyoto, or Shogun fight him. Sonnen doesn't even have a punchers chance.

I can't begin to describe how badly Gustaf would be beaten by Jones. There's a hype train I cannot wait to see ended. Enter the Shogun.
