I couldn't be less interested in this fight. What benefit will either guy get by winning? Forrest is done and if phil wins this wont put him further up the ranks.

Forrest is a plodding tomato can who doesn't show up in shape anymore...which was the only thing that made him a passable LHW to begin with as he never had any real skills or talent.

Davis will probably roll him.

Funny that, a 'passable LHW with no skills or talent' has managed to beat Shogun Rua, Rampage Jackson, Rich Franklin and Tito Ortiz. Not bad going.

Would love to see Forrest take this, but Davis is going to take him down and probably dominate the full 3 rounds.

Not everything has to be about ranking.

So what if it doesn't move Phil much up. He is like the 7th-9th ranked LHW. He isn't always going to get someone higher up the ladder. He is no where near ready for the elite level so what is the rush to shoot him up the rankings? To get a shot and lose bad then what?

Forrest is a name. Davis isn't. If he beats Forrest that ups Davis' popularity and name.

If the UFC tried to give every prospect a higher ranked guy they would run into a lot of problems. The division is at a stand still. Relax.

That all said, I don't care for the matchup. Not big on Phil. And Forrest is basically done. Or at least his attitude would make you think that. I liked the SOnnen/Forrest fight because it gave Chael some clout at 205. Plus it was a decent matchup. Standing they both are average but Forrest had length. Chael could probably put him on his back, but Forrest has good enough BJJ to make it dangerous for Sonnen to sit in guard. Plus they could both take some jabs at each other. I guess I'm just not big on Phil Davis. He could probably stand and have no problem because Forrest has no power. But Phil's stand up is still weak as hell right now. He probably wins on TD points.

Well yeah, a shit load of fighters could be every fighter on that list except Rampage...which he didn't deserve to win in the first place.

Even regional level fighters could beat an old, 195lb Rich Franlin masquerading as a LHW...a shot to hell and back old man Tito who won like 1 fight in 8 tries, and a terribly out of shape Shogun with a bad knee who, even a fight later could barely a 50 year old semi-retired Mark Coleman.

The only thing Forrest had going for him was that he had some semblance of heart and determination and was a massive, long, in shape LHW.

Now he's just a massive pool of self-loathing and cynicism.
