Brad Pickett vs. Eddie Wineland added to UFC 155 in Las Vegas

Pickett today announced the fight.
UFC 155 takes place Dec. 29 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The night's main card, including a heavyweight title fight between champion Junior Dos Santos and ex-champ Cain Velasquez, airs on pay-per-view. Pickett vs. Wineland likely will be part of the prelims, which FX and Facebook are expected to carry.
Pickett, a British fighter and former WEC fighter, made a statement and thrust himself into the title picture with a first-round knockout of fellow contender Yves Jabouin this past month at UFC on FUEL TV 5. Pickett is now 3-1 in his past four fights, and the lone loss came to Renan Barao, who won an interim title earlier this year. In his three UFC appearances, Pickett has won two "Fight of the Night" bonuses and a "KO of the Night" award.
Wineland, the first-ever WEC 135-pound champion, avoided a 0-3 start to his UFC career back in June when he knocked out Scott Jorgensen in a "Fight of the Night" performance. Wineland closed out his WEC career with four straight wins, but once in the UFC, he suffered back-to-back decision losses to Urijah Faber and flyweight-tournament finalist Joseph Benavidez.

Damn, has Mayday just fell of the planet or something? I could have swore one of them would have been matched up with him.
That's a great fight though, gonna shut those anti-135'ers up for sure. There's no such thing as a boring Brad Pickett fight and Wineland packs mad power.

This will be on the prelims, Koch/Lamas is on the prelims too, JDS/Cain, Forrest/Davis, Weidman/Boetsch, Maynard/Lauzon, and Belcher/Okami is the main card.
Unless they pull a Japan and add a bunch of fights to the main card, which they might. |
